Taxi for Torres - judas fecks off to chelsea

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Remember the Liverpool way people.  lets not boo him or hurl any sort of abuse in his way.
Let him leave and be comfortable in the knowledge that we will recover, just like we did when Owen left etc.

Lets use the money to build a great squad.  Spurs have done it.

Ben smith times

#LFC will sell Torres to #CFC today if their valuation is met AND Dalglish can sign replacements in time

----

Time to look forward guys.  Good to see we are looking to a replacement now. And btw anything we spend between now and July does NOT impact on the FFP figures. I heard we were in touch with 1 PL club and 2 La Liga clubs last night over his replacement.

its a double edge sword, as we rob chelski blind, another clubs will also rob us blind. latest news is that we will offer 30m for Carrol, 30m for Carrol?
r u fcuking kidding me? for a striker who didnt even has a full yr BPL experience under his belt.

Ben smith times

It was a meeting with Kenny Huang in July that persuaded Torres to stay last summer (£) http://thetim.es/hUOGCN

I think I've finally accepted that he's going.
Reading the press today I'm left wondering if he was really the man we thought he was !!
Don't believe everything the press publish , but there is picture emerging of a different Fernando .
Could we all have been so wrong !

There's something strange in this move but I just want him out now, get as much as we can and bring in Adam and a another quality forward to go with Suarez, I think Caroll would be good but not sure about 30M, how about Ola Toivenen or wasn't there some German striker we were linked with a while back ?

I hope Torres fails at Chelsea (If he goes) & gets punished for being a sulky little brat. No matter what the situation in the club, these players are still payed ridiculous sums of money and should behave like professionals or at the very least act like it in front of the media & viewing public.

We won#t get Aguero. If Spurs bid £38, activated the release clause and still couldn't sign him. The offered fee meets the striker's buyout clause but that does not oblige the Spanish club to sell, they said they would only sell if Aguero paid the tax on the buyout clause. Which essentially would mean it would take £40m+ to sign him.

He isn't worth £40m+

If Chelsea are going to pay the 50 they must surely have offered it already to give us at lesat some hope of replacing Torres. If thats happended they will no doubt bid for Young and ring around to try and recruit a striker. Saying that it wont be easy seeing as its reported Spurs have pretty much bid for everyone and been knocked back. How about Suarez strike partner Forlan a good short term option maybe? They work well together, great movement.

And that is the issue. It's who he is going to.

We can't complain that he is leaving as he has been fed broken promises for the last 2 years, he clearly has lost faith. Also we can't moan that he has handed in a transfer request, he did the same to Athletico Madrid.

But to Chelsea, really... :no

Buy David Luiz and Adam and save the rest for the summer as we already have Suarez.

seems they have comeback with a bid of 50mil, deal could be done by 3pm

we need to learn from this as a club, lots of reports that Torres
lots of reports that he has not got on with other players at the club since the start of last year. (not talking about that report from a liverpool player)

before he turned up at the club on sunday kenny asked him once again if he wished to leave, Torres said yes. to this kenny then stated that he was not to train with the team and to have no contact with liverpool players.

other reports atre linking us to 3 other players today, one of them being a striker/winger from a top prem club.

Great.  We move on.  Let's wrap the Charlie Adam deal and there's the news obviously of us taking Carroll from Newcastle for up to £30m.  Carroll and Suarez upfront anyone, instead of a sulky striker who doesn't want us???  Easy.
