Taxi for Torres - judas fecks off to chelsea

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

You can rest assured that Kenny and Comolli will be talking today about possible replacements and replacements this month. I know we have a very limited time but we will had a number of targets that have already been looked at so we are part of the way down that process.

£40M - £50M and I would sell Torres. For 18 months he has been a forlorn figure who has been no better than average with the odd glimpse of magic.

The way Torres has gone about this is totally disrespectful to the club, Kenny, the fans and his fellow players. He should not be allowed to set foot in Anfield again as a Liverpool player. We want committed players at our club and not premadona's like Torres.

Kenny will know exactly what is going on and will have a plan following the announcement last night. Don't be surprised to see this situation gather pace today/tomorrow, Torres to be gone and Kenny to bring in the 2-3 players that he needs to revamp the squad.

Carroll, Llorente or Negredo (in that order of preference) to replace Torres with Young, Gervinho and  Hazard to freshen things up and offer width and further attacking options.

What potentially fatal disease?

Malaria?

An African getting malaria is like you or me catching the cold.

There are severe types... which he didn't have.

I'd argue he's less effective now because age is catching up.  Chelsea recognise this which is why they want Torres.

Apparently he wants to leave because London has a better range of hair products.
 dobber!

I would not be surprised to see Stevie leave if someone made a proper offer for him.

Even if we got £40M + Sturridge I would take it. From what I have seen of Sturridge he looks a good prospect and certainly knows where the back of the net is. He also fits with the clubs new philosophy of young homegrown talent.

When you consider Torres' injury record over the past 2 seasons I cant help but think that a young hugry combination of Suarez and Sturridge would more than fill the void (most importantly the goals) that we would get from Torres.

I may be in the minority here but I honestly think that losing Torres now is not a disaster as we have

a) signed a very good replacement in Suarez and
b) Would have multi-millions to spend to strengthen throughout the squad

:)

I'm really not too bothered with him leaving, we're going to be better off with the funds, trust me.  I'm sure he's broken a few hearts but we'll move on.

The thing is we are still in with a chance of getting 4th which is only 9 pts away... so why would we wanna strengthen our rivals for who are currently occupying the 4th place... I would rather ask him to honour is contract with the risk of an unhappy player than strengthen our rivals...

Torres lad, bad feckin move! You could join Barca or Real or Inter or Milan or whichever european giants... but not any of our rivals in the Premier League...

the thing is i'm not even sure he'd fit in at chelsea. he'd just be another cog in the machine there and there's no way he'd bond with their sh#t fans.

not convinced about these reports of us getting sturridge either. is he really better than ngog?

Yes if we can afford to do it we should keep him a while longer and sell him at probably a much lower price to a foreign club.

That's the thing... they're offering a player we don't need... why would we want Daniel feckin Sturridge? We got Pacheco, Ngog, Amoo...

Give us 30 million + Essien and I'd say that's a fair deal...

they are offering Sturridge because we registered an interest in him earlier in the season.

It hasn't been confirmed that he does have a clause in his contract, has it? And besides, nothing wrong with a £50million clause is there? We'd take that right now  :(
