I really hope we sign Suarez.  I think he could do a lot for our club.

I live in Holland and have seen him play here for the better part of three years now.First with Groningen en at his current club Ajax.

I am not disputing he is a good player, but he is without a doubt one of the worst cheats I have ever seen

.One season he was yellow carded for so many dives(9yellows for a forward) it is just not funny any more.A couple of those were unjustified, but the refs got to a point with him were they just assumed he dived.

He cleaned that up a bit,but he can be a wum of the highest order.Good player, but can be cringe worthy to support.

His upside is that he can play on either wing or central. He is hard to get of the ball, great shot and is unpredictable. That means unpredictable for both opposition and team-mates.
He is an upgrade, but not without his problems.

good. we need someone like that. winning ugly is fine so long as we win. im sick of seeing teams like Manure get away with countless penalties after their flower boys Nani and Berba dive at the slightest touch and get away with it.

That's very true.  A player like that will take the pressure of Torres.  Torres gets fouled countless times a game and very rarely gets a call.  With Suarez there I think it will be easier for Torres to get a call and definitely take the physical beating off him a bit.

As for manure... exactly.  Nani is the biggest diver in the league, berbagay does the same and rooney loves a good dive as well.  Even Giggs dove earlier in the season for a pen.  It's time we start getting some of the refs calls too.

we used to take the p!ss out of 'ronaldo the portuguese diving queen' when he was at manure due to his Olympic grade dives but it makes you wonder...  are managers actually installing this into the players? get a touch or a near touch and down ya go.

i mean during half time talk at the Manu liverpool game Big Sam even went as far to say he encouraged his players to go down and cheat.

fuk me is this what it's come to?

anyway back on track...  Saurez = yes please, Downing = yes please, Bent = yes please
in fact, I'd take Noddy, big ears and the fuking donkey outa Shrek at this moment in time. We need a shake up and fresh blood.

From DanKennett on Twitter: media link is to Downing 2.5 yrs left (on contract), age 26. Fans prefer Young 1.5 yrs left, age 25. no brainer.

Agree. much rather have Young than downing

Young for me is a better player but Downing at the right price would be a decent shout.
He is an actual left sided player rather than someone who can play on the left but is right footed like young.
Kenny in the past has used wingers alot with success if you think back when we obviously had Barnes and Blackburn had Wilcox and Ripley when they won the league.

Wouldnt surprise me if this rumour was true.

Can't believe the price tag on Darren Bent, ffs.  Supposedly the Suarez deal is done for £17-18m .

I wouldn't mind Downing or Young.  I think Young is probably a better player, but if we could get Downing for 6 less, it may be worth it.  He almost seems the type of player that needs a good team to perform at his best.  Young's style will basically work the same no matter what team he plays for, but he obviously gets better results if he played for a better team.  I think either could help us out though and would be happy with either showing up.

When it comes to Suarez, I personally really hope we can complete the signing.  After all, he is considered a "Support Striker" who just happens to score way more goals than the striker he is supporting. :D

The last few years for Ajax, he has been playing in support of the other striker but still manages to score a lot.  Not only in the dutch league but for Uruguay as well.  People say he may not be that good for scoring 35 goals in 33 games in the Dutch league, but look at the last player with stats around those- Van Nist.  He's regarded as one of the better strikers of all time, so if he was like Van Nist, paying less than 20 mil would be a steal.  We all feel Torres is a steal at 26.  If Suarez can score half of is 35 goals in the prem, he will be a great signing.
