Your right Dawson - some of it has been way ott but there isnt much you can do about it - you can either rant or rave against them and fight fire for fire and a flame war starts OR you can just ignore it and just concentrate on the football - it takes two to tango when it comes to flame wars . The comments about Hodgson have on the whole been football related and critisim but when they go beyond that it all goes downhill and some of the responses from people to that abuse have also been disgusting as well - yes its wrong to abuse and insult manager but its prob more wrong to abuse and personally insult posters on here directly .

The behaviour needs to change on all sides Dawson or it wont get any better .

Looking at the Hodgson thread was bloody disgusting and awful and it came from both sides - one that does stick out is the insult Lee said to Ciggy .

And it doesnt help when you have people like Thomm Perm flitering in and about and sticking his little oar in then running away . Plus the vieled comments that are constantly repeated on here

The one that springs to mind is

" People happy we are losing " or "Wanting Hodgson to fail to be proved right "

You cant say those sort of statements without any backing or evidence .

You know what else doesn't help?  An avatar of our manager morphing into Ferguson.  Pure, unadulterated gasoline on the fire that was.  I 100% agree that there's a difference between criticism and abuse but what seems to be overlooked is that thorny third category that Bav likes to call 'banter'.  The owl stuff, the photoshopped images of Roy, the parody Christmas carols...all of that nonsense is a big part of the problem as well.  We don't half look like something off of Bluekipper sometimes.  It's cringeworthy.

I have no idea where the owl stuff comes from if im honest and the carol stuff just went too far in the end - if we were doing well it would prob all go down as banter IMO but because we arent everything just ignites unfortunatly

It takes a bit of self control which i failed to show with the avater .
