If that's the case, I cannot see the likes of Torres staying...

why the fook would Roy start spouting off about how much money he has so every club could add another 50% to a transfer fee.

use ur noggin lad it's not rocket science

:suspect:

I think you're missing the point..

:no

Actually he has a fair point. What difference does it even make if he said yes? If he did it would put other teams on alert to bump up their prices. The last thing we need is paying inflated prices just because we have new owners.

Id rather he just say nothing and then get the players in come the transfer window.

The point I was making is that there is unlikely to be a bean available to the manager come the transfer window. The owners have said so. So RH talking about watching, tracking, monitoring players etc....just looks downright daft.
THAT'S my point.

They said no marquee signings which as some mentioned makes sense as no one really splashes the cash in Jan. But they have talked about getting in younger players so you never know we could see 1 or 2 youngish talents come in.

Rumours going around that we're interested in Lisandro Lopez.  Was great for OL last season, dont know if he'd make a good partner for Torres though.

In

Young £14 mill (ish)
Schwzienstiger Free
Afellay Free
Shaqiri Free
Turan £16 mill (ish)

Out

Ryan Babel & Dirk Kuyt £14m (ish)

Thats what we should do in the summer. EASY

Playing too much FM are we?

Never played it mate, im a LMA man myself, 2 many stats screens on the PC games. I joke when i say EASY or Simples but that list is very realistic and the prices r about right. The only 1 i wouldnt hold 2 much hope of getting is Schw... but at the end of the day if we could lure the others here first he could be tempted and hes one hell of a midfielder as we seen in teh world cup. The prices r about right and we could get all of them in r budget (3 of which have expressed a desire 2 play 4 us)

So i cant c why its a stretch

Plus, he will never leave Bayern, if his contract will end soon, he'll probably sign a new one. And if Bayern ever release Schweinstiger they'll try to make a profit, they will never let him go for free.

If City ever sell Johnson, they wont give him to us... maybu they will, for a lot more than he's worth. He just signed for City so he probably has a long contract which makes him even more expensive.

I cant see Ashley Young coming in Liverpool. IDK how much time has he left on his contract but I think that Villa will never sell him to us.

As for Afellay, Shaqiri and Turan, those transfers are possible. Turan has already said that he would love to play for LFC. There might be a bigger interes from other clubs for Afellay so it might be hard getting him. Shaqiri might be easier to sign.

And for other players that we're linked with - Vucinic and Forlan, I think that Forlan wont come to Liverpool but Vucinic is a high possibility.

I think Ashley Young would jump at the change and now if his contract is running low Villa might not have a choice.

Were Liverpool one of the greatest clubs in the world lets not 4get that were doing :censored: at the moment. But id like 2 give footballers a little credit when choosing teams and i dont think theyll judge us on the bad spell were in at the mo.

your point is NOT realistic mate.

we do not want to start any nonsense about what we will do in January as we will end up paying over the odds in both transfer fees and wages, etc, etc.

at this point we have no idea how much will be available and the fact that the new owners have not made any big noise about it is surely a good omen?

According to Richard Buxton our main targets are; Mirko Vucinic, Mario Gomez, Ashley Young, Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez.

A journo/Liverpool fan. A few of the lads on here recommended following him on twitter..usually on the money.
Very adamant we are targeting Vucinic, Gomez and Young

Thanks  :)

I think Young is a very good player and would welcome trying to bring him in. Great pace and also decent with set pieces.
Vucinic has always looked a decent player as well.
Not sure about Gomez, he hasnt ever stood out when i have seen him play.

Alexi Sanchez? He has looked a top player for Chile last few years but I cant help but think he will turn out to be another Mark Gonzalez.

Nah mate he's definitely way more talented and skilled than Gonzalez. But of course there's always the risk that he won't adapt to english football if that's what you're refering too re Gonzalez. I do believe he's got much more in his locker though and thus should have a far greater chance of succeeding in the PL.

Re the other rumours about us being after Young, Vucinic and Gomez I pretty much agree with Ben Patrick above.
