Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Igor Zidane » Wed Oct 13, 2010 12:47 pm

I just want to thank each and everyone of you who have fought for our great club over the past 3 years.

We have won a great victory today for the future of LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB .

Thankyou to SOS for never giving up and thankyou to those fans who while not members still fought tooth and nail for our club .
Tankyou to RAFA BENITEZ for outing these two shysters for what they really were
Thankyou to MATRIN BROUGTON , CHRISTAIN PURSLOW and IAN AYRE for having the bollox to stand up to our previous owners(doesn't that sound great) and for doing what is right for our club .

Thankyou to justice floyd for bringing justice for us fans and to the legal teams who smashed the yank lawyers in court .

Now a word of warning to John W Henry and NESV our soon to be new owners .

DO NOT take our support for granted .
DO NOT place our club in fear of extinction ever again
DO respect our history and traditions
DO respect us fans
DO use your knowledge of running a sporting institution to put us back where we belong
You will earn our trust by your deeds , we will not give it so easily this time. ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY . NEVER AGAIN .

Finally ,we are LFC and we are the best football club in the world . We do have the best fans in the world .

I'm so proud of being an LFC supporter today and i knew the day would come when we just talk about footy again .

Yeah, Kop Holdings Ltd are effectively dead and Liverpool FC has a chance to be reborn.

Barring absolute disaster NESV will be the new owners.

Once bitten, twice shy. The fans will hold the new owners to account right from the word go. While NESV's record with the Red Sox is exceptional until such time as work starts on the new stadium/refurbishing Anfield and the team is heavily invested in - without any sneaky borrowings - Liverpool fans should remain vigilant.

yep.. thanks to all those great people. Incidentally, I know it is a small thing but John W Henry on Twitter follows 8 people, 2 of those are SOS and saveliverpoolfc.. I am not that naive to think that he is a red through and through but at least it shows he has an eye on building some trust with us fans.

The three best days of my life was my son being born, Istanbul and today.

The storm clouds seem lifted, everyones buzzing, Ive got a big smile on my face, what an incredible day this has been for every Liverpool fan.

My RAWK mates, SOS, Fat Scouser, Nanny, Igor, the loons on the Rattle and plenty of others have worked so feckin hard for this day to happen well it finally has.

A big big thankyou to everyone who has campaigned for the club and put in umpteen emails (2 if your lakes :D ) to potential new borrowers etc.

Now we can get back to concentrating on matters on the pitch.

I must admit there's still a part of me which remains a bit cautious to the two c...s coming back like pheonix's from the bargain bin, but once I know they're effectively dead in the water I'll feel a lot better.

Although I obviously don't agree with everyone on everyones list of people to thank, I DO think that the SOS people have been a hugely effective thorn in the side of the owners. This is true despite at times a very passive response from much of the crowd. I've personally been surprised that some of the after match rally's and the like haven't attracted a much bigger attendance, but the guys within that organisation have come through setbacks such as the Christmas party songs thing and 100% kept their eyes on the prize. Since I've joined the thing (I claim no credit obviously though as I've done absolutely feck all), I've been extremely impressed with the way all the emails read, how they keep in touch and all the rest. My initial impression of a bunch of Trotskyite Rafa lovers was ill-informed and wrong.

I think the board deserve huge credit too. They have all been much maligned, largely through distrust and because they had run-ins with the previous manager, but whatever anybody thinks about all that there can surely be few who would begrudge them credit for not only selling the club but for stitching the ex pwners right up into the bargain. Fecking unbeleiveable result that is to tell the truth .

Lastly, looking forward I am absolutely convinced that Liverpool as a football club cannot prosper until everyone is united behind the team and the manager. I've said on another thread that the current manager probably isn't going to be able to achieve that, simply because huge sections of the fans have dug themselves into a hole from which it would be very difficult to climb. It's a bit like asking yourself what Benitez would have had to achieve in order to convince me he was the right man, I can't imagine what really to be honest.

My only hope is that whoever the new manager is, if indeed there needs to be one, gets 100% support from day one. Without that, there are very few who will succeed regardless of who the owners are.
