I've been watching Cisse and I think they guy has been very unlucky in many respects. At least 75% of the "offsides" are down to him being so quick. He's also getting frustrated with the lack of service - mainly because we're playing a different system and two of the players most likely to be supplying the passes haven't played with him, or together, before. I've seen people comparing him with Diouf and Heskey. Are they watching the runs he makes, and the way he finishes when he gets chances? Diouf would have been completely incapable of scoring any of the goals Cisse has this season.
There are also the Drogba comparisons. Again, watch Drogba for Chelsea. He's getting 5 or 6 chances a game in a team that are playing with confidence and making chances. Watch how many of those chances he takes, and how many he screws up. They both have 2 league goals this season. Drogba has started and finished every game for an unbeaten side.
Give the guy some time, let the team finds its feet, and we have a 20 goal a season player. If we don't completely destroy his confidence beforehand.....
Drogba's the better player, but he's 26? Cisse's 22?
Where was Drogba when he was 22?
Where will Cisse be when he's 26?
He will come good and be a tremendous player for us.
Thoughts?
