FWIW I have watched a good bit of him when he was playing for Sevilla and I was never impressed, and he hasn't been able to get onto the Juve side in front of Filipe Melo and our old mate Momo Sissoko. On top of that he was one of Denmarks worst players during the World Cup so I gotta say £6m is far too much money for him at 30 years old. Personally Im in agreement with some of the other guys on here that the def mid position is one that umpteen players can do competently that could be brought in cheaper and with premier league experience.

Hes got great stats on footy manager though

what happens when you sign players like this though? out of favour but have great talent?

what happens is they try harder to impress, cause they got a point to prove

personally id prefer a signing like this signing a much higher profile defensive mid

OK look at it this way,

Mach is as good as gone, Lucus never was a DM when we brought him he was a AM, Gerrard isnt going to be a holding anything, and i cant see Aqua tracking back making a tackle can you?

You are all going to eat your words when he crunches Rooney and gets the little jug eared fool sent off when he cant take it any more and lashes out.

Great talent !? Whenever I have seen him he certainly has never had great talent at Seville or Juve or with Denmark

ok but who was keeping Masch out of west hams first 11 when we picked him up? Nigel Reo-Coker etc

Well I think he`s a tidy enough player who should do a tidy enough job for us. I`ll be supprised if by the end of the season he`s seen as a flop by most. I dont think is age is necessarily a bad thing either although I think 6,if it turns out to be 6 mil is a little on the high side considering our finances.

Average at best, nothing else to say really but dissapointed, if he is being brought in as a dierect replacement for Javier , no were near the quality

Eh, I don't know anything about this guy.. But I think Masch's role within the team isn't all that hard to fill tbh.. it just depends on who the other midfielder they pair this guy with is. Masch is good don't get me wrong, and he was improving his offensive game but he still doesn't seem like a big loss to me. We shall see in due time though.

We have Gerrard, Aqualini, Shelvey, Lucas where does it say u need a defensive midfielder?

Most of Today's papers say
Liverpool have agreed a £2m deal with Middlesbrough for goalkeeper Brad Jones and have finalised the £5.5m signing of Christian Poulsen from Juventus.

Liverpool, who hope to agree a new one year contract with defender Jamie Carragher, 32, this week, have reportedly been offered Barcelona midfielder Alexander Hleb as a potential makeweight in a deal for Javier Mascherano but the Argentinian is still expected to join Inter Milan.

Forget Poulsen for a minute, why are we spending 2 million on another keeper?
How about we buy what we need first. We need atleast one striker, come Purslow pull your finger out. WTF are we waiting for? Maybe he cant be botherd now he knows he`s soon out of a job.
