Player Value

Now can someone help me with this one, the Mancs pay £30m and get a hat trick in the first game and we pay more or less th same for 3 forwards and they struggle to get 3 between then never mind each.

Which is the best value…….I don’t have trouble working this out but the Liverpool management seem to.

I agree Cisse doesn't seem strong enuff at the moment and seems fall over lot, just hope he gets stronger on the ball but this maybe all part of settling in.

Good thought. Player value is difficult to understand. But on the face of it, Drogba looks to be worth at least two Cisse's.

Award for the least intelligent post....

While Rooney was a hell of a lot of money, he scored a hat-trick.

However, he did have a whole team backing him up and playing together.

Liverpool, on the other hand.... Well, just look at last night.

drogba has played EVERY GAME for chelsea and scored four goals. cisse didn't start against bolton or yesterday, and every time he has started, he's been subbed. however he's still scored 3 goals. that's 1 goal less in a lot less game time.

so if you look at it like that yeah drogba's easily twice as good.

I don't think its a dumb question although perhaps we shouldn't be too harsh on our forward players just yet.

I couldn't help thinking when I watched the Bayern game last night that perhaps our money might be spent on a Roy Mackaay rather than Cisses or Diouffs.

However, Cisse is very highly regarded and in fairness to him, he is still very young.

It would be nice to sign a proven forward though.

Sorr JBG,

Yes, all be it a very special talent, but Rooney is very young also.

But I do agree with going for proven quality, not potential, I think the demands in modern football put too much pressure on young players at big clubs. Very few can cope with that pressure. Apart from Rooney, who seems to thrive on it, very special talent indeed.

I can get some comfort out of Rooney knowing he's a scouser and trying to forget who he now plays for!
