International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

The weight of expectation is such that ppl forget the top sides in the Premiership, have more foreign players then English ones. The 'Real top four' does not have an English goal keeper, and with sprinklings of Englsih players in the these sides.. there just isn't the 'big game' experience and technical ability that could make Engerland world beaters.

International football = orchestrating - so an Argentina can be carried with the passion and inspiration of a legend - backed-up with the technical stuff from Carlos Bilardo (WC winning coach 1986), becasue the team is technically gifted, assured, confident and players strut their stuff at the top clubs oh and their  'happy'.

Engerland... look stressed and unsure.

Annyhow - I fully expect them to get through to the 2nd round.. have to say watching Crouch come on was embarrasing - is that the best we can offer !

Who do you support? One minute you sound like you want Argentina to win, the next you're talking about "Engerland" as "we".

???

Peter Crouch, did you bemoan him when Rafa signed the lad  ???

I'm not English but even I know that's not even close to the best England can muster.  Writing them off a bit early perhaps?  :D

I'm honestly confused, on minute England is "we" the next much pleasure seems to be said in writing them/us off.

Am I missing something with Zara"babe" :D

No - I said they'll get to the 2nd round.. and who knows, but I merely pointed out the weaknesses...

Premiership top sides realy more on foreign talent and that is bound to impact on the national side.. am I wrong?

I reckon England will get to the semis, get beaten by Brazil, who will be beaten by Spain in the finals after they beat Germany (Germany knock out Argentina) but anything can hppen

I think England have more than enough talent to go deep into the tournament and perhaps even win it.  They need a decisive resolution to the goalkeeper issue, Joe Cole on the left flank and some protection for a slow CB pairing against the pace merchants but they've got the raw materials to make a decent fist of it.  But, self belief seems to be a problem and it's hardly surprising when their compatriots are prepared to big them up to dizzying heights before a ball is kicked and then hack them down the minute it doesn't go to plan.  England the team will never fulfill it's promise until England the public sorts out how to support its boys.  Just an outsider's opinion.

Let's see, if Liverpool drew a game in the CL group stages would those same people writing England off after one game say how s.*i*e Liverpool are?

Didn't think so...
