Billy Connolly did a sketch about national anthems saying how dull and depressing western ones were, whereas you get some tin-pot little backwater in the middle of Africa where the people haven't got a pot to p*ss in and no food, jobs or money, and yet their anthem will be some mad little upbeat ditty something like "We're from Ungo Bungo land and we don't give a sh*t!!"   :D

Gotta be the mad ones from little countries for me

God Save the Queen has gotta be even more depressing than the funeral march music. Utter bilge, should be replaced with Rule Brittannia/Land of Hope & Glory or something

"Ireland, Ireland" is NOT the Irish national anthem. It is the rugby anthem. Its a soft focus air brush number from Phil Coulter as Unionists would find the South's national anthem offensive.

I remember that sketch , he reckoned we should have the tune from the "Archers " dum de dum de dum de dum ,dum de diddly de
:D

If i was welsh I'd go for "Men of Harlech" , Scots , "On the Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond",  Irish ,Carrrickfergus . but being English I'd go for " My old man says follow the Van"  and for all away sporting events "Zorba the Greek " (just to confuse the opposition)
