The above list includes any sequels as well.

There's loads of others I've probably forgot but that's the best I can do for now.

I've gone for Predator myself :)

Went for some of the better known ones to be honest.  Some of my personal favourites no one will have heard of, not everyone's a sci-fi fan!!

Village of the Damned, The Thing, Starship Troopers, Mad Max, The Fly.  Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, I suppose they're not exactly unknown films, but it's almost as impossible to compile a top ten that people will agree with as it is to agree on THE best Sci-fi film.

i've not seen village of the damned, but the thing is excellent. the effects were way way ahead of their time. i also thought starship troopers got more stick than it deserved, its easy to read all sorts fo ethnic cleansing and suprematist sub plots into it but i just thought it was loads of fun.

Aliens (2) for me, although the first Predator film was a brilliant concept and comes a close second .

The Thing. without a doubt. for a movie made in the 80s(i think) has awesome special affects and is one scary flick

'spaceballs' is a classic. to me it is the best parody of sci-fi films in the same vein that 'princess bride' is to fantasy/adventure films

How can it be anything else but Star Wars? What was the point of putting up any other choices? :D

I'll also scale that down to TESB. It shows the plight of the rebels and the true powers of the Jedi and the dark side.

Yoda Rules.

If I were chosing an Alien film, it would be the first one. The Chest burster scene is fantastic. For a bit of trivia, did you know that John Hurt was the only person told about that before it happened so all of the others would be genuinly shocked.

Good knowledge, didn't know that

Here's another rumour I've heard, this time about Predator.  Apparently the Native American guy Sonny Landham who played Billy HATED Arnie.  He also had the reputation of being a complete loose cannon and getting in fights all the time during filming movies.  The director on the predator set had a bodyguard assigned to Landham to stop him attacking Arnie.  Apparently.
