Who knows mate. What was the supposed bust up over? I haven't listened to 5live or any other sport radio station since close of last season. No SSN either. Too much :censored: being talked and it gets me stressed. :D

If he wants to go and is begging rafa to go, fill out a transfer request.  Or shut the hell up and play for LFC.

He'll have had his Mrs tearfully in his earhole every day he got back from pre-season training "What's happening Xabi, I can't live like this, we're having a baby. FFS" (she might not have said the last bit I just put it in for effect). "Can't you have a word with Benitez, tell him you want a decision?". I can just see Xabi thinking I need all this sh!t like a hole in the head. Eventually of course it all blows over as nobody is prepared to pay the 16 million quid fee, and he gets back to work.

And how he works. He's stuck at least 10 million quid on top of his transfer value, he helped us play our best football for 20 seasons, and he's conducted himself by and large pretty well. People talk about him b eing vague, but that's only in the press. For all we know, he could have told Rafa on the final day of the season "Look, I'm off in the Summer just so's you know".

The guy has been a fantastic player for Liverpool and a model pro. He's given us five good years and he wants to go home. Let him go with dignity I say, both his and ours.

Yeah poor little lamb, what's he on, £75k a week, times is hard, times is hard. :no

I have no problem with him wanting to move on or even with him hating Rafa, but trying to feck LFC out of much needed transfer money by destabilising the negotiations in Real Madrid's favour is way way out of order and if true I will never forgive him, plus I have never really liked him as a player anyway, far too defensive for my liking although he can pass the ball quite well.

John, 30M overvaluing Alonso?

Look, don't get me wrong. When I talk about big sums about Alonso, this year or the last, I'm not implying he's the best player I've seen on earth.

Alonso is not worth 30M. And Torres is not worth 60M. And Gerrard is not worth 70M. Those amounts are silly.

But that's the market. Even in Madrid they acknowledge in a opinion article today that they can't expect getting Alonso for 25 when Albiol costed 15.

The key question why I talk about high sums for Alonso is not because he's irreplaceable, but because of I can't see what we can do with 25M to improve the team if he goes.

When Real Madrid has knocked other doors after hearing the firm answer of Rafa and Purslow (1) they have knocked the door of Roma and asked for De Rossi. They've knocked the door of De Agostino. And you know what? in Italy they say that they won't sell for 25M. That's why I don't think asking a lot for Alonso is not silly, but necessary. We have something that they don't have, we can not buy a lot with what they offer, and quite simply, if we sell him for 25M we'll have to be VERY VERY spot on in what we sign up to replace him.

That is, I see where you come from or where Mick came from last year when you gave your valuations about the player. But that valuations make sense in a market of common sense. And current market is not ruled by common sense, and even less after Real Madrid has broken the market.

(1) Mind you, I'm not mentioning Purslow in order to prepare him to be the new scapegoat :D , but because he's becoming famous in Madrid due to his negotiation skills, they're mentioning him because he's the one they're contacting all the time.

-------

Anyhow, to sum things up, I think this is what's going to happen:

Current situation:

Real Madrid has 31 players and a whole dutch colony to offload and Xabi is on a honeymoon. Purslow and Rafa are defending well our interests.

In stage one they're going to try Xabi forces a situation. They'll fail, because I don't think Alonso will have the balls to do that publicly.

In a second stage I think that they'll eventually offload some of they stuff like Huntelaar, and they'll do an improved offer over 35M for Alonso, but well into the summer, possibly August.

That will leave us with a decent sum, but few time to operate, and I don't think that will be good situation for us.  :(

i wish we would do what Fergie done with the ladyboy, not enough money being offerd just stick it out , im sure Xabi is proffessinal enough to get his head down an play another season , when we win the league an he has had another blinder of a season, then i would be happy for him to go, up the prince an all Dosnt it make you feel sick though at the thought of Xabi passing the ball to fecking gayboy. Just because hes put in a tranfer request dosnt mean we have to agree simple as.

he was asked on talkshit will Alonso leave, he said (and i am only going by other forums here) yes, he has not been happy at the club since the 4-4 draw with Arsenal.

reporter: as far back as then ? why

things happend during that game and after that game, he had a run in with the boss just before kick off so i am told and again after, soon after he had a run in with 5 team mates, so to say that i am happy to have moved..yes.

the other forum has taken it down as it was on talkshit so what i just posted is what i saw.

juist look on talkshit site and there no LISTEN AGAIN for it , not even sure when it was said but must have been today or a few days ago.

WTF? Now I have newbies taking the p1ss, this pr1ck doesn't even know who I am, unless..................................................................  :D

OK maybe I'm going a bit overboard on Xabi and it's probably more his agent and RM that I'm p1ssed off with but I personally hate getting ripped off and I feel as if Xabi is helping in RM doing that to us.

surely if he came out and said i want 2leave we would have 2sell meaning RM could offer less money. If on the other hand he keeps his trap shut we can demand more? I don't want him 2go but feel if we go 25mil plus a player it could prove beneficial for us. People should lay off him. We are Liverpool Football Club, we respect those who have done us proud!

I dont think so , if we have valued him at a certain amount dont forget hes still got 3 years left on his contract, So we hold all the aces here , they rather pay up what we want or Xabi stays, Thats why i said before we should do what Fergie done with the other fella ,hold out ,

.an i agree with you an all , he been in my eyes nothing but a gent on an off the pitch, So if he does eventualy go i for one will never wish him bad, its just a shame that he will be joining a circus,
