The 24-year-old goalkeeper is currently impressing the Baggies during a loan move from Liverpool, and he admits he would be interested in sealing a permanent switch to the Hawthorns.

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm a West Brom player now," Kirkland said. "It might be out of my hands because I don't know what Liverpool are thinking.

“I'll have to wait and see what they want at the end of the season. But if the opportunity (to stay permanently) came up then I would have no hesitation."

With Carson, Reina, Dudek, Kirkland is wasted talent, he is good, but I doubt with what I have seen of him, that he will be able to outclass the top 3

kirkland is the hyppia of goalkeepers..... ie (no pace).

He has all the physical attributes needed...but his reflexes are quite slow.

Kirkland has missed the bus at Liverpool. Carson looks a great prospect, and its hard to see Kirkland getting the nod ahead of Carson or Reina.

Great performance from Kirkland against Arsenal yesterday.  One save in particular was absolute top drawer stuff.

Glad to see him getting an injury-free run, even if it's not for us.  He's a good keeper on his day but I don't think he'll be back playing for us next season to be honest.

For a start he is far too injury prone, keeper is the one position where you can't accept this, consistency is needed in that position.  Secondly I don't think he ever coped well with the pressure of playing for a big club.  That's why he made mistakes.  At a smaller team like west brom they are underdogs every week, so there's not as much pressure on Kirkland and with them always under attack there's plenty of opportunities for Kirkland to prove what a good shot-stopper he is.

A few more good performances by kirkland for west brom and we'll get a decent transfer fee for him at the end of the season

At the moment about 2 million.

If he has an injury-free season and plays well for West Brom then he's worth at least 3 million I reckon, although not sure of his contract situation, that could affect his value if he's going into his last year next season.  Whatever happens we'll recoup nowhere near the 7 million we spent on him.

When was the last time we actually made a profit on anyone john craig? Either Iv'e got a memory like a goldfish or we really have turned useless or unlucky in trying to sell players for more than what we bought them for.
