Clemence is a bit before my time and I believe Ogrizivic played like four times for Liverpool so he is a bit FOURtunate to be included. I think you missed Mike Hooper who was around for a bit

I can't believe that some of you actually voted for "Calamity" James and "Softie" Westerveldt! Well, I am not being judgemental because perhaps some of the members here are too young to remember even Grobbelaar's golden period during the early to mid 80s, let alone Clemence's time during the mid 70s to early 80s.

I'm afraid to say that being 33 years old I saw both but I'm sticking with James......

I've seen all of them play and Clemence was by far the best out of the lot. He had everything a good keeper needs. Having said that I think Kirkland has the potential to go one better - but he needs more games and experience to fill Ray's boots.

Ray Clemence was the best keeper by far.He made the most difficult save look easy.

James is a better 'keeper now than during his time at Liveroppl. I would say that Grobbelaar is naturally more talented than Clemence and he can make amazing saves. the only thing is that he has far too many lapses and likes to do spectacular things. He was lucky to have probably the best of Liverpool's defensive pairing in front of him, Hansen and Lawrenson. If Clem had them, he would have let in less goals.

I've seen all but Clemence and Ogrizivic (playing for Liverpool, I saw those two for spurs and Coventry respectively in the late 80s though) Those two were good keepers but I still prefer Grobbelaar. To be honest, a keeper can only be as good as the defence in front of him.

Undoubtedly Clemence with Brucie in second!

i think James was the best in the world at his peak,
whereas Clemence wasnt so it has to be David James without a doubt.

DEFINATLY RAY CLEMENTS !! WHAT A STAR !!!
When you get the ball, I want you to beat a couple of men and smash the ball into the net, just the same way you used to at Bury," said Shankly. Lindsay replied: "But Boss that wasn't me, it was Bobby Kerr." Shankly turned to Bob Paisley and said: "Christ Bob, we've signed the wrong player."
