i remember you saying he was the right man and he had your support :glare:

I think Rodgers deserve another year at least but tactics can bring you just as far ,we are still missing the talent on the field ,especially on defense and that one solid player on midfield (Past Gerrard?).

he has to get another year il agree. ive said it when he got the job that that should be the minimum.
my only fear is that he will sign more sh!te in the summer and take us two steps back again.

No point at all in any sort of knee jerk replacements of the manager.

I am NOT happy, don't get me wrong, but we have to stick with this plan (I hope it's a plan) for at least three years.  It will be painful (perhaps more painful at times than this week) but another change would be crippling for the club.

I just wonder what is happening in the heads of the players.  We let one in, an unstoppable "worldy" but then once again our belief vanishes and we let in a soft second soon after, and capitulate.

Season over in February, so BR has time to the end of this season to get the team playing and performing to a consistent level with little real pressure.

Something just doesn't feel right in our attitude and approach, which is my main worry.

Didn't watch, but followed the game on eurosport during class. A couple of things:

Same old story really. We have a lot of great chances which we fail to convert. The other team goes ahead and then we give up more goals chasing the equalizer.

The reason we are losing games like this is down to two things:
1). Our f*cking strikers and midfielder have got to start scoring on these chances. Its a team issue, but Suarez is the main culprit. Yea, he's scored a lot of goals this season, but his goals/shots ratio is horrendous. He's got to make better decisions and get the ball on target when he does decide to shoot. Hint: This is why we are a much better side with Sturridge up top and Suarez supporting.

2). We need more experienced players who know how to handle going behind a goal. This is why FSG's youth policy will not work. A side of kids will never win anything. Look at Everton and they are great at winning matches where they have been behind and they have the oldest avg age of any team in the PL. Look at the Mancs, they have won so many games when they have been down a goal this season. Our side obviously lacks the belief that they can win games if the go behind. I think it was a real mistake to get rid of Kuyt, Maxi, and Bellamy and secondly not replace them with equally talented/experienced players. Yea, we saved a lot on wages, but we are suffering for it on the pitch.

Guys, I know a lot of you will laugh at me, but I think we are really close to having a good side. We have a solid core group of Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Gerrard, Suarez, Sturridge, Lucas, Henderson,  and Reina. I think Joe Allen will eventually come good and Downing will eventually be seen as a good player.

I agree to an extent.

The squad selection was right, we created chances galore yet the finishing touch wasn't there.

Two players cost us. Suarez and Skrtel.

Suarez should have had a hat trick by halftime, I'm sure given the same opportunities Sturridge would have. Even if Suarez takes ONE of those gilt edged chances we probably win.

Skrtel looked rocky all night, Sh*t scared of Hulk. If he hadn't of backed off Hulk and presented a tackle, Hulk doesn't score and the game ends in stalemate.

Zenit are a good side with many CL quality players, we looked a match for them all the way up to the first goal then it fell apart. It's that aspect that is worrying - the inability to react when losing.

Now BE is our new manager I back him to the hilt. Welcome to LFC the best club on earth and certainly the most SUCCESSFUL club in England

okay you didnt exactly use the words "he was the right man" but as good as.
backing somebody to the "HILT" would imply that you are 100% behind the man and believe that he was the right man for the job.

First time ive read this forum since christmas, and its so good to see our supporters showing there worth.

Actually, f*ck it. Ive had enough. Im going to give it you straight.

Our supporters SUCK.

In the past, our fathers, our fathers fathers have built a reputation for being the best supporters. Why? Because they had patience, they appreciated the little things, hard work being one. Luck being another. Whenever Liverpool supporters were mentioned on TV, the Radio or anywhere, we were always acknowledged as being the most knowledgable fans in the game. Its been a long time since I last heard that. I wonder why that is?

Probably because today we have supporters calling our own manager a spiv. We have supporters who fail to take any good from any game played today unless we win, and even then, that praise is minimal. At every opportunity today that our supporters get they insult, berate and generally curse this clubs heroes.

Take Carragher. When he announced his retirement, how many so called supporters hurrayed that decision? I would bet my life it was a high percentage, simply because we have so many shallow supporters.

They want the club to succeed but they dont want to be made to look like fools. They want FSG to throw money around, generally they want us to become like Man City, or Chelsea. They want us to be successful but they dont want to suffer the defeats, they want us to go straight to the top in the easiest way possible.

Our ancestors supported this club on the ethic of hard work. Players like Kenny Dalglish, Emlyn Hughes epitomised everything good about the ethics of Liverpool Football Club. Look at todays club, several of our players are not good enough, but I never thought I would think the players are above our supporters. They are.

Very few supporters today look out for the club, very few acknowledge the effort, but a hell of a lot are always there, more than willing to kick the boot into the very people who have given us a lot of pleasure.

Put simply, I used to enjoy conversing with our supporters, now, you just make me sick. You are petty, shallow, and sum up everything that is wrong with the club.

We haven't won in five now.

We have just been beaten by a team that hasn't played competitive football for 2 months.

We're in free-fall.

Rodgers' team's can't/don't know how to defend. Shocking!

As i first said I have stucky by Rodgers this year. Giving him time waiting for the team to bed in waiting for the January transfer window ETC.

As KK said we havent won in the last 5 games. When they consist of Oldham WBA Man city Arsenal and Zenit you'd expect at least one win especially as we were 2-0 up v Arsenal and 2-1 up v City, We were at home to WBA and pretty much dominated and Oldham are leagues below us.

In each one of these games Rodgers had a descion to make to decide the outcome. Against Oldham he started a bit weaker at the back and as he said "was let down by his youngsters" Still waited until we were 3-1 down and around 55 minutes to bring on Gerrard which made a huge diffrence.

Arsenal we was 2-0 up It was evident we needed to bring on someone to just see out the game Gerrard looked tired. Arsenal went on to score twice not good.

Man city cant really blame Rodgers for much.

Zenit was the final straw. 60 minutes 0-0 if you wanted to bring on Lucas for Sterling this is the time okay wait another 5 minutes still no substitute. Hulk scores on 70th minute. 1-0 down okay we will take that bring on Lucas now or another defender. 72 minutes 2-0 down. Okay so now we really need a goal as we struggle to score 2 at anfield let alone against Zenit. 78 minutes Sterling comes off for LUCAS!!!. I love lucas he is a very good player. He will NOT get you a goal

That there is the problem and as a fan I can voice my opinion and frustration.

Rafa was a master tactician. He never always got the results. But i guarantee he would have a better record than those last 5 games.

I still believe Rodgers is our man and I still think he can turn this season into a success. What i mean is were not out of Europe yet. Give it our best shot and who knows. Keep winning or shall i say start winning games in the league and who knows where we might end up

I didn't think we would go further in this competition after just got through to the second stages by a whisker.
The present LFC does not have the quality or the players to be in Europe at all, or be in top four in league, and it is about time we realize that otherwise we will end up with false dreams and expectations that is beyond this squad.
The best LFC can hope for is to stay in P/League for the next coming seasons, a very much mid-table team, unless the owners are willing to spend some money and bring in at least five top class players for all departments, especially in attack and in midfield, there where we are really lacking. In attack Suarez is really overloaded, you can see he is really exhausted can't not carry the whole other useless strikers and wingers on his back, apart from Sturridge when he is fit.
In regarding to the management, well you can give this present squad of average players to any top manager in UK or in Europe, and he wouldn't get much change out of this squad. When you have players keep making stupid mistakes in every game and they wouldn't learn from it, then you are in hopeless situation. The recent teams of last and this seasons were taking on step forward and five backwards. This is real indication that LFC is in constant decline and it will continue to do so unless you have bold owners that would bring in top class players.
