is it just me or does our fcking 20mill signing Jordan Henderson look very average ?

Been moments were he's just disappeared. There are some times when he's much better at controlling the game, but he does go missing at times.

The fact that he's so young tho and shows that he can take control is promising for me, but as of now he just needs to keep playing.

The first 30 minutes we looked like headless chicken but encouraged to now see we are getting our act together. After all, it's only the weekend after next!

Thought he was our best player of the first half. Made a few nice challanges trying to help Johnson as well.

Well first half... I'd have to say:

Good- Carroll, Downing
Average- Kuyt, Adam, Hendo, Johnson, Reina, Agger(good off, poor def)
Poor- Robinson, Spearing, Carra

Carroll has been the best I'd have to say. Really one good chance and he scored. The long passes to him, he's taken control of and has had some really decent passes from some not so great balls. Downing has also donne well with a great cross for the goal and has good control on the ball.

Spearing has been missing since kick off, Carra has been horrible making mistake after mistake and Robinson has also gone missing.

Agger has been great on offense but is guilty on defense as any.

That defense is worrying me. Needs shorn up before the season starts otherwise there isn't a chance in hell we'll get a good start.

Still think a lot of our problems are coming from the midfield of Spearing/Adam. For me they just aren't doing enough Valarenga have all kinds of time on the ball, there are holes all over the place and they aren't controlling the game whatsoever. Our midfield is getting bossed.

Really Spearing is playing...Man either i'm trippin or he hid under the grass.

Thought Kuyt and Johnson were terrible ,Dirk is my redundant player when Suarez returns same old weakness ,no tech skills and no speed. Johnson gotta realise he has decent subs (Kelly and Flano). Adam was also MIA as well as Wilson.

Kenny in case you missed it in ALL our pre-season matchs ,we have NO defence. It's getting pretty late and CB and LB are just crucial.

Playing Carrol as a lone striker seems also not as effective.

Finished the half pretty well need to keep pressing.

Don't think we've got much else to shore it up with.

With the exception of Robinson we're playing what most would pick as our first choice defence.
