Carroll won more in the air that I have seen him to date in a red shirt. This game will hopefully be a game where his aerial threat is an advantage, play to his strengths, etc

what's our record when we play Carroll and not Suarez? I know there won't be many games but I think we usually win. Might all be in my head tho :D

I'm not saying Carroll is a success by any means btw

Difficult game this. Hope that both Bellamy and Gerrard will start. My biggest concern is, again, our midfield especially without a proper DM now when Spearing is out. Speaking of Spearing, are there any news about his injury?

Gerrard has played two consecutive 90 minutes so fully expect him to be on the bench for this one.

Adam, Shelvey, Kuyt and Maxi could all feature as they played little or no part in the city game

This match has certainly gone under the radar with the glamour of the semi final, Suarez stuff and FA Cup draw.  Stoke always prove to be a difficult team for us to beat so it will be a tough game.  Think we'll nick it though.

looking forward to this one. Think we'll have too mich for them. Great chance to gain some points on Arsenal as well as they have a difficult side and Chelsea are up against resurgent Sunderland so they could slip as well :)

We have been given so many chances by the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea slipping up its time we started pushing on.

We are still in the mix for 4th ( unbeleivebaly ) so 3pts today will keep us in there.

Normal back 4 please kenny, none of that semi final crazyness ( sure he was just winding city up with bringing on so many defenders )

Midfield should be interesting, would like to see shelvey and maxi come in.

Shelvey maxi gerrard henderson

No place for downing because he just dont cut it.

Kuyt and carroll up top

Easy peasy 2-0 to us
