Liverpool v Brentford KO 2pm 16/01/22

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Sun Jan 16, 2022 4:14 am

Back to the EPL hosting the mighty Brentford. If we are to put up some sort of a fight we must win both of our games in hand, even though we will still be 8 points behind!

Our league form has been slacking recently DLD last three games. These lot lost against Saints 4-1 last game and sit 14th.
I highly doubt it will be another 3-3. I'm just hoping it is not one of those 80% possession, uneventful, borefest 0-0 draw.

I hope Klopp doesn't play Hendo/Milly in the middle, God help us if that is the case.

The lack of interest here is somewhat bewildering. We need this.

I think we all see the predictable outcome. Dominate the game, create very little, then get caught with the sucker punch.

Might be something to do with every thread just descending into bitching about transfers and money. Hardly anyone talking about football. Other forums are thriving.

I feel for Ox at times.. his body just can't match his output. As soon as he pushes himself his body gives out. He's tried his heart out today but another niggle is probably gonna give him another setback.

Unfortunately not many teams are going to be as generous in the ***** up department as Brentford. Let’s face it we weren’t great and against a half decent team we would have been in trouble. The owners really need to ask themselves some serious questions. An ageing team with no strength in depth is going to take us on a road to nowhere. Time for a major rethink.

Fact is we broke a run of three games without a win and we managed a clean sheet and scored three, good job. If we can get back to clean sheets then we will get into a groove  again, string a run of wins together and anything could happen. City haven’t really had a wobble but I think with injuries you never know and should play accordingly. Clean sheets should be our foundation from now and let the rest sort itself out.

Good win with a weakened team. We are a country mile behind City but it's vital we win our game in hand.

Next league game is Palace, which won't be easy

Good win but looking at the big picture to overhaul City we need to invest in the squad. Without that it's all just wishful thinking. Sad to see Rafa go, the board have wasted so much money that there's little Rafa could do in reality but of course the Bitters fans don't want to understand that. The same will happen with the next guy. Six 'permanent' mangers in the last 6 years. What a club...

Feel for Rafa, until I realize that he got paid millions to walk, where else can someone fail and still get paid millions…..It would be great to be a PL manager. Still, he really never got a chance and I’ll always be great full for exposing those leaches for which he paid the ultimate price.
