Liverpool Football Club - Games

If we don’t get a result here we could find ourselves in a bit of bother, our recent form has been pretty sketchy and another loss here could see us 6 points adrift of the qualifying places.

We’ve had a whole week to prepare for this, and boy did we need it after that Sh*t show against Napoli. Thiago came on in that match and immediately showed what we’ve been missing so will be glad to see him in the starting 11. Robbo is out with a knee injury until after the international break but Tsimikas has shown he’s an able deputy. Klopp was pretty scathing in his Napoli post match interview and pre-Ajax press conference so I'd expect a big response from the boys. I’d go for the below.

                          Alisson

Trent          Matip          van Djik          Tsimikas

       Elliott          Fabinho          Thiago

          Salah          Nunez          Diaz

Subs: Adrian, Gomez, Phillips, Arthur, Milner, Carvalho, Jota, Firmino

We’ve got no game this weekend either, our game against Chelsea is one of 3 called off so the lads can give it a real go tomorrow.

Ajax haven’t lost a match this season and they are scoring for fun, they are probably really looking forward to playing us. This match could be  pivotal as how we respond to the Napoli defeat.

Is Clive doing the commentary on Paramount plus?

Who ever it is sounded like someone killed his dog after that Salah goal.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

It is him.  And he sounded like he just got a BJ as Ajax equalized.

Pitifully there is no other choice but to play him. I'd drop him like a hot snot

Thiago bent over for a moment.  Turned out he was just tying his shoe.  Hell I’m surprised he can do that without spending two weeks on the training table .

Tsmikas and Thiago were absolutely brilliant tonight.. and Diaz never stopped running. What a result that was!! Well done lads.

Really?? Thought we were very lucky to get a win. Not convincing at all, again. Against kids. And a totally new team, having sold half their first team in the close season.

A wins a win. And it wasn't a vintage performance, but it was an improvement.

I thought we controlled the game.. we got caught with Trent being lazy for their goal but even then it was a great finish by Kudos.

We could have had 3 or 4 goals tonight.. Virgil had a couple of really good chances from corners.

I am slightly concerned with Nunez control.. the ball seems to bounce of him, he is slightly clumsy. He did really well outwide whipping a good ball in for Diaz.

I think we need to play Nunez from the start.. he seems to be a player that thrives on confidence, and him coming on 20/25 mins of games when teams are time wasting and defending deep are doing him no favours.
