LFC: KEY MOMENTS - 2007/08 season.

Liverpool Football Club - Games

No not at all. Most of these hosting sites all work the same way. Just click on the link. Sometimes you will be given a randomely generated code which you must enter.

Enter the code and then press download. Sometime you will get some silly advert take over the screen but just press "skip this ad" in the top right and you will go back to where you were before.

When you do this you will see a bit lower on the screen a ticker from like 40 sec down. This is your download ticket preparing. When it reaches zero you will see 2 options. "Premium" and "Free" just click on the free button and the download should initiate. Then just choose where you want to save it to on your pc/mac.

(I hope I explained that ok. Let me know if it doesnt make sense and ill try and put some screen shots up of the process)

I thought it would be better to upload the raw footage themselves rather than put them up on youtube or some other site as

a: those sites compress the video so you cant enjoy it in all its glory and
b: those sites are starting to crack down on all the clips so are removing them for legal purposes.

These links are safe and no one will take them down. Normally I will just post our goals and the full highlights spot but if someone requests another teams goals just let me know and ill rip that aswell.

As for the videos themselves they are in avi format. (div x encoded) I have played around with various formats trying to find a good balance between quality and size and this seems to be the best. If you have ever downloaded any film/tv content/sport content in the last few years then you should be able to watch it but for those of you living in the stone ages who need the codec download it from here. Its free.

http://www.canadiancontent.net/tech....c).html

A codec is just a like a patch that enables you to play more complex forms of video through your standard media player which for most should be windows media player.

Im sure most know the above but just incase you didnt.  :D

Cheers for the tutorial Bav--I'm sorted now.  I suppose I was living in the Stone Ages, as I did need to download that codex thing to see the video (could only hear it as an audio file at first).  Anyway, it works now and the quality is excellent.  Cheers for this!

2. PREM. 19th Aug 07. ANFIELD - First official goal for record signing Fernando Torres on the opening home fixture of the season against Chelsea.

Alonso nods the ball into the path of Gerrard who executed a sublime long diagonal pass for Torres to latch onto outside the right hand corner of the Chelsea box. The Spaniard bamboozles the hapless Ben Haim to cut outside him and run directly towards the onrushing Cech...who Torres then skillfully outwits, sliding the ball past him just inside the far stick on 16 mins.  The game finished 1:1 and was single-handedly marred by the ineptitude of referee Rob Styles awarding a highly disputed penalty for the opposition that should never have stood. A decision that ultimately led to Styles being demoted for the following weekend.  As a footnote, Torres' goal came almost exactly 30 years to the day since Kenny Dalglish opened his Liverpool account against Middlesborough on 20th August 1977.

3. PREM. 25th AUG 07. STADIUM of LIGHT - Two more scoring debutants for Liverpool in the premiership today in a hard-fought 2:0 victory over a well drilled Sunderland team managed by Roy Keane.

First up, Liverpool FC's 7000th League goal.

Scored by Momo Sissoko on his 75th appearance for the club on 37 mins. Alonso guides a deep ball into the penalty area crossfield to the byline for Jermaine Pennant to nod back into the danger zone. Andriy Voronin latches onto it and lays a short ball outside the box into the path of the fast approaching Sissoko, who dispatches an unstoppable drive from 25 yards low into the bottom left hand corner of Craig Gordons net.

4. PREM. 25th AUG 07. STADIUM of LIGHT - From the same match.

Following on from his superb strike in the 3rd Qualifying round 1st leg tie over in France against fellow Champions League hopefuls Toulouse which secured a vital away goal in a dour 1:0 victory affected by the oppressive afternoon heat. Andriy Voronin opens his League account for the club in style after a gritty, industrious performance supporting Liverpools attack alongside Torres.

In a classic free flowing counter-attack Ryan Babel picks up the ball over halfway and plays a neat one-two with Pennant, who reverses the ball back into his path with an audacious backheel.  Babel then feeds Torres who carries the ball forward and at the crucial moment slots in Voronin who had ghosted just inside the penalty box. The Ukranian turns back inside controlling the ball and outfoxing the defender before unleashing a low drive from twelve yards out, into the far corner of the net on 87 mins to seal the win.

Two fantastic team goals there...both involving four players doing exactly the right things with the ball at the right moments.  Top stuff! :buttrock

I just hope the Carra's injury doesn't become a negative key moment. Last season his absence costed points when we couldn't play him at early stage of the season

5. UEFACL 3rd QR 2nd Leg. 28th AUG 07. ANFIELD - On an emotional night Liverpool secure safe passage into the Group Stage of this seasons Champions League comfortably beating French outfit Toulouse 4:0 - making a comprehensive (5:0) aggregate scoreline overall.  Goals from Peter Crouch, stand-in skipper Sami Hyypia and a late brace from Dirk Kuyt ensured the reds went into the hat for Thursdays draw:

GROUP A

LIVERPOOL-FC PORTO-OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE-BESIKTAS JK

N.B This game will also most likely be remembered for Pako Ayesteran's last involvement at the club in a Liverpool match. With the Assistant manager sadly deciding to step down from his position before the week is out.

6. PREM. 01 SEP 07. ANFIELD  - Liverpool destroy Derby County in a 6:0 rout on the first 3pm K.O at home this term.  With arguably their most ruthless performance to date, the Reds notched up a significant contribution to their '+' Goal difference column against a poor Rams outfit. In actual fact - they could easily have hit double figures, only down to some errant finishing in an otherwise comprehensive mauling of one of the newly promoted sides in this seasons campaign.  First off the mark, Xabi Alonso with a long range (35 yards plus) Free kick which sailed over everbody in a crowded box, deceiving the unfortunate Bywater by way of Kuyts attempt to nod the ball on..and bouncing underneath his desperate late attempt to palm it round the post, the ball nestling in the bottom left hand corner of the net, opening the scoring after 26 mins.

Then, a first Liverpool official goal for Ryan Babel - and imo the pick of the lot. Daniel Agger plays a laser guided through ball, out wide for the impressive Arbeloa to latch onto. He then feeds the ball  across the Derby penalty area for Babel to collect who superbly deceives two defenders, sending them to the floor and in one smooth movement, shifts it to his right foot before planting an unnerving piledriver high into the goal to the keepers right on 45.

After the break the floodgates opened and in truth there was only really going to be one outcome.  56 minutes - Third goal.  Fernando Torres second League strike - and what an example of composure in front of goal. Mascherano superbly retrived possession of the ball well over halfway with a crunching tackle. The ball rolls into the path of Torres who ran at the Derby defence, cutting outside their advances before slotting a slide rule ball into the opposite corner with aplomb from the edge of the penalty box at the Kop end.  Next up, Alonso's second of the day after 69 mins and another well worked effort. Mascherano again, fed Babel out on the right who had made an intelligent run. The dutchman cut a firm ball back across the box that fell to Benayoun, who was about to transfer the ball and shoot..only to be tackled firmly while in possession. The ball spills out to the 'D' where Alonso, coolly slots home, low into the bottom left of the hapless Bywater's net for the fourth.

Within ten minutes it was five as Kuyts powerful drive from the right had Voronin following up to poke home the rebound on 76 mins for his third Liverpool goal in just over a fortnight...A minute later and it was the Ukranian who this time turned provider, spotting Torres high up the pitch in space with a lobbed through ball upon which the excellent Spaniard pounced and steered past the despairing keeper to casually toe home his brace from 6 yards and the final goal of a satisfying afternoons work, notably accomplished without the services of both Carragher and the skipper Gerrard.

This, combined with the rest of the weekends results saw Liverpool climb to the top of the Premier League for the first time since 2002.  A Key moment indeed.
