1st of all if this topic is on some were else i apologise.

I just heard on the radio that songs that supporters of football clubs have adopted (YNWA=Liverpool and YMCA=Everton) could be banned from being sung on the terraces by the fans because the media (TV or radio) is worried they will have to pay royalties to the artists of the song. This could mean the kop being banned from singing YNWA. I mean whats the world coming to when you cant even sing on the terreces.

If it's licensed by some company then radio ban - tough at it'd be, ok. But noone can ban people for singing some tune, and especially if it's KOP singing YNWA. They is no law existing that can ban people for singing !!!

Thats what I said, Its Gerry Marsdens song now and how many times has he sung it live for us. I can find it on the web but I heard it on the radio in liverpool. There is no way I would stop singing it ever.

Yeah, I can just imagine it! Sky saying to the fans over the tanoy - "Spion Kop, you are live on Sky Sports, please do not sing" - maybe they can even get Davina to annouce it! And the Kop politely say "Go to Fu(k" What are they going to do, cut the sound from all matches!!! Because, for one thing, the singing won't be stopped!

It was on radio city. Dont get me wrong I dont agree im just puting it on to display how outragious it is. I cant find any web pages with the news on to link to but i will put it on if i find one
