we'd be continental, and intercontinental champions. And therefore Universal champions and light years beyond the galacticos.

Needless to say, if we lose , it was the Mickey mouse cup

We think were gonna win, Sao paulo fans think their gonna win, hell even that sapprissa fan thinks they will beat us tomorow :D. There has been a good bit of banter in this thread and its turning into a bit of a rivalry. So thanks to the sao paulo fans for coming on here and hyping this tournament so much that i actually care whether we win or not. Maybe the tournament means f*ck all to win but now i just hope we win to prove this sao paulo lot wrong.

May the best team win.

LOL

And there are São Paulo fans in all Liverpool Forums. In Liverpool Community of Orkut, there are São Paulo fans talking about this WCC since July. hahaha I think that for those Liverpool fans from Orkut, WCC must be the most important tournament ever.

Strangely, in the official Liverpool forum, the fans are way more interested in this tournament than here. I didn't find any reason for that though.

And if it makes you feel better, I (and most part of São Paulo fans) became much more interest in Liverpool in the recent months. Since it was confirmed that Liverpool would be at WCC, the Brazilian sports channels started to broadcast every Liverpool game. And before that, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Milan used to be the most famous teams for those Brazilians who are used to watching international matches.

****I'm anxious about the match Liverpool x Saprissa...man, that's not normal!  :upside:*****

And all opposition players better not get too close to him or they may disappear into his stretch marks.

It’s easy to understand why the South Americans take this tournament so seriously, it’s the whole Europe vs South America mentality.

The top leagues in Europe along with the Champions League get huge coverage all over the world, whereas the leagues of Brazil/Argentina etc as well as the Libertadores get little coverage outside of the Americas.

For the other Confederations this is their chance on the world stage, whereas for the European teams the Champions League is the pinnacle, and definitely the most prestigious trophy it can win.

The South Americans produce great footballers, and It’s fair enough that with all the coverage European football gets they want to see their club get one over on the European Champions, whereas for us beating Milan was so much more important
(hell I’d rather we beat Everton on the 28th than win this tournament)

However it would be nice to be crowned World Champions.

Sao Paulo are a good team and they'll give us problems. It will be interesting to see how we play after such a long trip, and a huge change in the time zones.

get ready for soccer leassons sunday.... amoroso, cicinho and junior will give it for you...

Don't forget about our goalkeeper, Ceni, who scored 20 goals in current season while "The Giant" Crouch, their striker, scored 2 in 23 matches...

Vai São Paulo! :hearts

I score 5 or so goals per match against Sunday-League-quality opposition (I play 5 a side), which equates to around 190 a season. So therefore I must be better than all of Sao Paulo's players put together?

You thick b*stard.

Wait a minute, i didn't think Man Ure won it in 1999.

im a little confused?

the fifa website says manure won it in 99

but the bbc news website says corinthians won it
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1....053.stm

does anybody know who really won it?  :O

Manu won the intercontinental cup 1999

The first world club championship was won by Corinthians 2000.

I'm sorry, but Man U won f*ck all. They got humiliated 3-1(I think) by Corinthians.

Whatever sh*te it was Manure won, it was NOT when they dropped out of the FA cup! (The sorry b*stards.)
Infact, isn't the "Toyota Cup" just a nice way of saying "Third place"!?!

Besides, the f*cking tournament was in the following year (2000), so what the f*cking f*ck is the Toyota cup? Some revenue-building b*llocks instigated by a greedy Jap b*stard who feels like lining his pockets by duping unsuspecting poor buggers to cram into a second-rate stadium and watch the biggest pile of vomit since the red cross undercooked it's entire stock of Afgan chickens?
What we have here is a bunch of brainless wasters who's sole purpose is to fabricate history and increase Man U's pathetic trophy-hawl.

Well f*ck 'em, thats what I say. Snivelling c*nts.
