The ball that Alonso just played to set up Risse was world class.. what a player

All 30 yards of diagnal ball from the right to the left, picking out Riise perfectly who scores with a volley.

Benithez did say that Alonso is "a very intelligent player who can play both short and long passes very well" when he signed Alonso from Sociadad. I was a wee bit skeptical because I did not see him play before but he has settled in well now.

Not the best of defending though, first mistake was rather costly

Yes, Josemi made a mistake in letting the pass through. Very careless and very cheaply given goal...

The Aussie Emerton causing a variety of trouble down the left wing. Too much pace for all our defenders. Do we have anyone who can go with him?

Cisse's leg is broken...couldn't bear to watch the replay. A new striker is a must now!
Emerton's having Josemi for breakfast at this moment...defence look shaky esp the right side.
