Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

In Ron Yeates's book  Colossus, he says how he had to leave because he could'nt get on with Houllier no longer, when he was scouting he had to fly out Houlliers orders to sign Igor Tudor.
He rang Houllier and said Tudor is not on the team sheet Houllier was saying he his get him signed, so they agreed a deal with Igor Biscan by mistake.
How can this have happened?   Why was this aloud to happen, Houllier said to Ron Yeates this better never get out in public, well now its out and I think its a disgrcace,.
I cant believe it.

Yeah but you just don't sit down with a player and make a contract when the surname doesn't match the one you are after...it seems an impossibility.
And what about Igor's Brazilian skills last season?

Tudor is a centre back so this explains why he put Igor there, and Igor was sh.it there :O  I really cant believe it honest.
Bobby Robson mark 2

In the early days of managing Newcastle, Bobby Robson saw Jason Euell playing upfront for Wimbledon and thought he was a fantastic player. But Bobby Robson is not very good with names and tells his scout to make enquires about the young black lad, England under 21 player, who plays upfront for Wimbledon.
The only problem was that Wimbledon had moved Jason Euell back to midfield and put Carl Cort up front for Wimbledon, who is also a young black lad and England under 21 player. So the scout comes back and asks Bobby Robson if he wants to put a bid in for Carl Cort and Bobby Robson says yes put a £7.5 million pound bid for the young black lad, England under 21 player, who plays upfront for Wimbledon.

Now Jason Euell is arguably a much better player than Carl Cort and maybe worth £7.5 million pounds but Carl Cort is not worth that much, so when Wimbledon received a bid of £7.5 million pounds for Carl Cort, they could not sign fast enough.   So after a short while, Bobby Robson finds out that he has bought the wrong player but hasn't let it out yet.

I have very big doubts about that story.

Igor Tudor played for Hadjuk Split and not Dinamo Zagreb (Biscan's team) in Croatia.

Tudor signed for Juventus for around £3million in the summer of 2000, while Biscan joined us later on that year.

As far as I know, the two of them did not play club football together.

I remember the lead in to us signing Biscan. He was actually highly rated as he put in a few good performances in the CL with his old club. Rumour had it that we beat Juventus and Madrid to his signing.........a big scoop for us as we all learned.

Read this website's review of Biscan.

I'm not exactly sure I'd agree with their assessment of his Liverpool career.  :no  :shifty  :D
