Two million is very good business for a player who almost always has a nightmare when he plays. That said I have a nagging suspicion that I just can't shake off that given a regular start and the confidence that may bring, he might just make a centre-half.

I spent a while on here sticking up for him and got rightly derided for refusing to accept the obvious, that he is garbage. He does however posess the tools to be able to do the job, pace, strength and tackling ability. He lacks massively in concentration and decision making but he wouldn't be the first centre-half who made lots of mistakes as a young player but matured into a more reliable version of himself. It's a good deal for us, but my suspicion is that it may not be the ridiculous piece of business for Charlton that many are making out. Remember so you can throw it back in my face, I think he'll make a centre-half.

agreed. And he will definitely be one of the boys in the new dressing room with his medals around his neck. I feel he is in for some good times, just not at liverpoool.

Traore moving closer to the exit door

Skysports.com can reveal Liverpool defender Djimi Traore is undergoing a medical at Charlton.

The French defender has travelled to London to begin talks and take a medical after Charlton agreed a fee with Liverpool for Traore.

Charlton have been chasing Traore for the last few weeks as they look to bolster their squad and are close to finalising a deal.

Liverpool have decided to let Traore leave Anfield after bringing in Fabio Aurelio from Valencia earlier this summer.

The player's agent Willie McKay confirmed Traore was in London having a medical

yeah, he has looked shaky in most of the games he has ever played in but every now and then he produces a little cameo that keeps you believing there`s a decent player somewhere in there.
i remember a particular `mark lawrensonesque` tackle he did in the league cup semi against watford when it looked like their forward couldnt miss and as someone has already mentioned how important was that clearance off the line in istanbul.
even in that infamous burnley game, we were under the cosh from the outset and until his o.g he was probably our best performer on the night - but the truth is he was always liable to do something like that and to be honest i`ve seen him caught in possession trying to do his trademark `dragback` on the edge of our box more than once.
he`s probably better moving on because i dont think he`ll get much of a look in as a centre half and he`s definately not a natural left back.
but as you say mate, wouldnt surprise me if he ended up a decent centre back.

Ah, Djimi.....I'll never forget the memories you gave me.....such as jumping up from the couch to scream "NOOOOOOOO!" when I saw you coming into the game.

You can bet your life he'll have a worldy every time he returns to Anfield!

Cheers Djimi, great worker, unfortunately no real talent. Good luck lad!
