Are you compatible with Torres?

"Yes, both on and off the pitch.  We like playing together.  I don’t want to disrespect Atletico but Torres has been through some tough times and now he feels liberated.  And the way Liverpool play suits his abilities, which are up there with the best in the world."

Fantastic player but I'm not sure if he's what we need which sounds ludicrous for a player of his ability. He just doesn't suit a 4-2-3-1 formation, presuming that's the formation that we're going to stick with next season.

Well, judging by their performances for Spain it doesn't look like they are compatible.

In my opinion Torres has proved he can play up front on his own with Gerrard supporting him from the deeper position. If we had better wide players who can support Torres more then we'd be formidable.

Was watching Valencia yesterday playing a formation similar to the one we on at the moment with David Villa operating left, centre and right ( interchangably) and running the channels. Brilliant player that will easily fit the left slot on our formation. Will have him in a heartbeat.

triple swoop for Silva and Mata too please

David Silva (8/1/1986) Arguineguín (Las Palmas de Gran canarias)
Yesterday not at his best, was involved in the 3 Goals Valencia scored.
I would like to know how many faults on him....(I think more than 10)

McDonald is very, very similar to Santa Cruz. He's very good positioning wise and scores many goals off the rebound if someone elses shot is saved or blocked. I like that in a striker.

The title of this thread Torres ideal partner - 10 - 12 million.

For that money we can not improve on what we already have.

True. But anyway since Berbatov wants to leave spurs for CL footy i`d deffo go for him, he`s the type of clever player who could play just behind Torres to great affect.
I know i shouldnt but just thinking about it gets me going  :D . Prem winning strike force i recon.

Berbatov is a really talented player but I'm not by any means sure he's got the ersehole for a battle Away at Sunderland on a wet and windy Wednesday night (bit of a shame none of the months start with a "w" cos I'd have put that in as well).
He'd turn it on at home to wigan when you're already 2-0 up, but would he go missing in the sh!t or bust games?

All that said, we are going to have to make a decision soon on Babel. Assuming Crouch goes (which I think he will) then we are definately going to need cover, proper comparable tangible cover for Torres. If babel aint upto it, then we are going to need to buy someone who is (cos obviously fecking Voronin isn't). Given all that, Berbatov probably posesses the quality to do the job, but whether he'd turn his hog out if he didn't make the team each and every week (which he wouldn't if we played 4-5-1) is another thing.

Given all that, i can't help wonderig if his teammate keane might be a better bet. He could probably play where Gerrard plays now, could certainly play where Torres plays and could like as not even cover out wide. Least that way there would be plenty of opportunities to get your moneys worth, he's be cheaper and his attitude is first class.

TBH mate i think keane would improve us, always likely to score as  you say great attitude and a wiley sod at that, could play up top as well as in behind, yer feck it if it comes to it he`s got my vote.

yeah i saw some old footage of berbatov not all there upstairs....

agree with your comments

to be a real contender for the league aah keane would be lovely but

hasnt he pledged loyalty to his current club and didnt he have some injury problems though ???

so how would you guys feel about a 4-4-2 for the lads

keane takes gerrards spot and gerrard moves up and partners torres .....  cant let torres take the whole load and he needs a partner he can gel with and understands from the go of the season

memories of the days when kenny and rush and keegan and toshak partnered upfront....

those were the days
