I still think we need to move Babel up front with Torres, I am convinced they would play well together and Babel's goal was very good last night, he is far better when playing central rather than on the wing, a bit like Torres really, some of Fernando's crosses were apalling

babel is still best served as a sub

but i do agree when hes ready he should be used as a forward rather than winger

10 - 12 Million is also not enough to buy a player good enough to play alongside Fernando in terms of getting the best out of him.

There's plenty of talent out there.

My vote goes to Arshavin of Zenit - He'd be no more than £10M

good shout that, seen Arshavin a few times for Russia and in the uefa cup with Zenit looks a quality player, and still fairly unknown so shouldnt be too expensive.

After exposure in the U wafer cup quarters I think the "fairly unknown" will be pretty well known. He's bound to attract a few suitors, if we're going to pursue we need to get in there fast and negotiate now. If Zenit make the final then the chances of him not being chased are pretty slim, I think it's probable he won't be at Zenit at the start of next season

Come on, I am from Romania, I know he is an excellent player, and has had two very good seasons but I wouldn't want him at Liverpool. Not with his history at Chelsea and general attitude.

Certainly not for Rafa's liking and certainly will not want to return to England. So why bother mentioning him ?

whoever suggested that little Argie from Birmingham, he's just equalised for Birmingham against Everton. I think Jeff Stelling said that's his fourth goal in four games. Maybe we should look closer at him.

Zarate GBjh , like max said , rafa was interested in him , he's a good little player . Would love to have him here could be great for injuries/rotation

As for torres ideal partner , i've said it time and time again , robbie keane , great players , would cost ard 10 to 12 million and ramos might be interested to sell
