I have an even bigger one,ROY bleedin KEANE.I can tell you that the manure skipper supported liverpool and celtic as a kid and a young man.He was known in cobh for especially hating the mancs.I believe he tells a story about sending a letter to every top team in england asking for a trial when he was sixteen, everyone except manure. He says now that he didnt believe that he was good enough for  "man u the greatest club in the world" and thats why he didnt write to them.In reality they were the one club that he didnt want to play for,he hated them with a vengance, same as all pool supporters. The first letter he sent was to liverpool football club who at the time were the strongest team in europe(despite being banned ) this was the late eighties remember.Manure had won nothing in twenty years and liverpool were the most succesful team in europe so it amazes me that he claims he wasnt good enough for old trafford yet good enough for the kings of europe.Still, the lie must go down well on the stretford end,Im sure they would hate to think their idol supported the true reds, the ones from the banks of the mersey.

sorry greenred but i used to drink in the same pub as roy when we were growing up and going back then we used to have bets and arguments about who was best and roy was always manky even now when he comes home we still meet for a drink and we can laugh about the past but he was always a manc but his first choice was always celtic and still is
But  saying that he was one of the few manc fans who had great respect for LFC he was always a football supporter  no matter what club he used to have views on every game every division

Hiya leo, maybe roy was telling his usual porkies because Im pretty certain that manure were the one team he wasnt interested in joining before he came to england.Officially he claims to be a spurs and celtic fan so im not sure where your getting the manure thing from,if he was a boyhood manure fan then its news to me.I remember him saying that all his family supported manure but he was the odd one out (he refused to say who he supported, this was an interview on RTE during USA 1994)All I know is he supported liverpool against manure on more than one occasion so he couldnt have been much of a manc.

GreenRed...Roy Keane specifically says in his book that he was a childhood Spurs fan.

What team you supported as a youngster is not very relevant as a player.....most of the home grown players for the Pool in the last 10 years have been Everton fans.

I couldnt really care less who he supports jbg,I just think its funny how he rewrites history to suit himself.I wouldnt read his poxy book if you paid me either.Id have to respect someone to want to read their life story, and I dont respect that traitorous piece of sh.it.  Its an odd irishman who walks his dog when Ireland are playing Spain in the world cup finals.

I agree with you, cos I don't give a damn about him, cos he let Ireland down so badly. We don't need him, p1ss off Keane!!!
It is the truth that he used to be Liverpool supporter when he was little boy but he is a kn0bhead and traitor!!
