Time for a mass clear out?  too much dead wood?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby C-R » Sun Oct 17, 2010 3:21 pm

I think everyone has varying opinions on who is good enough and who isnt, if there isnt a time for a large clear out in january there will surely be one in the summer

I thought it would be an interesting debate to see who we can agree should stay or go

for me...

Keep

Reina
Carragher
Torres
Gerrard
Johnson
Konchesky
Agger
Skirtel
Kyriakos
Kuyt
Shelvey
Cole

and To Go...

Hodgson (?)
Lucas - not good enough
Babel - not good enough
Ngog - not good enough
Jovanovich - not good enough
Poulson - past his best
Maxi - not good enough
Aquilani - too light weight
Spearing - not good enough

Mass investment needed, possible targets who could make a difference

Shweinsteiger
Sneider
LLorente
Lassana Diarra
Adam Johnson (sadly cant see citeh letting go of anyone)
Luis Suarez

Lets discuss

The manager needs to go after the final whistle !!!
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Start off with the manager and throw in babel, poulsen and lucas!

Than slowly we will buy better players!!

I would prefer a top manager to use the january funds rather than roy wasting them on shyte!

Its more a case of who we keep, rather than who goes.

Over the next two transfer windows there has to be major changes.

Maxi is woeful and Roy tried to ship him out in the summer, but no one would pay us anything for him or take on all of his wages.

As for Babel, he's one of the WORST players we've ever had when you consider we paid 11 million for him. He makes Cisse and Diouf look good.

I think the first person to go should be Hodgson the players do not look like they want to play for him and we look very much like Fulham with some very average players in the team.

New owners New manager lets juat atart again!!!!

Looking forward we must unload the following or at the least move them to reserve/backup duties only.

Carra - over the top ,too slow at this stage.
Skertel - Not enough talent
Konchecski - Too slow
Paulson - Too slow
Lucas - No talent
Babel - Goat
Maxi - Too slow

As a result of the above our defense is hysterical and we have no ability to develop orgenized play. Any team which presses us high enough will win the ball very quickly and yes without the round object we look like a bunch of frightned nuns.

I don't know about mass clear out, but when Torres is as bad as he was today we are woefully short on quality. Whether our star striker simply can't be bothered any more, or whether he is injured none of us know, but he was absolutely terrible today and we cannot carry him.

I'd forgotten how bad Lucas was but he reminded me today, Maxi was his usual self, while Cole did the best part of feck all either. I didn't mind Mereiles although he could have done ebtter for the second goal, I didn't mind the Greek, and as per usual Gerrard was the best player on either team by a hundred miles.

It is increasingly begining to look though like it will take a better manager than the one we have in order to sort through the flotsam and jetsum which we have littering our squad.

We need at least 6 players to go straight into the team and thats a massive intake in one go. We may get in one or two in January but not that many. Unfortunately our manager doesnt appear to know what to do with this bunch no more than the last fella did and meantime confidence has just ebbed away. Hell of a job on to get a team out there worthy of the representing us thats a cert, a huge cull and recruitment drive followed by hours of hard graft on the training pitch.

Konchesky, Lucas, Maxi, Poulsen, Babel and probably Ngog are all not enough for this club.
Replace them with Taiwo, Llorente, Turan, Sanchez, Diarra.

It's time for the King to be given the reins

I would retain Pepe and start from scratch after that limp puerile display ....gutless soulless players that are now mirroring the manager perfectly ..... My most uncomfortable Derby ever and I have been to a fair few :(
