I don't think he's after a reaction or anything mate, he's just saying it as he sees it.

Well we'll never know, because I won't give anyone the satisfaction.

I replied to your criticism of our former manager Lando, as you have ridiculously underrated him...and based on what i am witnessing so far are massivley overrating our current manager.

You used the fans opinion based on Houlliers last season in charge, i am asking you if you remember what things where like before his heart op ?
You see i do, and we were all as optimistic as we were before the start of this season, as we had improved our league position in the previous 3 seasons.
I remember going to so many games when Gerrard Houlliers name was being sung with as much passion as Rafa's is now.
You cant seem to see that Liverpool is bigger than Rafa and that the boss can make mistakes, well its happening..and he is being as stubborn as Ged was being..admittedly regarding different things, HOULLIER (dud signings) RAFA (ROTATION)

All i want is for Rafa to get his sh!t together play our best team (which i think he did today) get us back in the winning mentality..then continue with a settled line-up allowing the players to get back into the groove.

The...IN RAFA WE TRUST statements make me cringe, he is obviously top drawer but not the be all and end all.

Anyway...i wouldnt want to get anyone banned...i dont mind a difference of opinion to mine, i've sort of got used to it with having a bird  :)

Except OASIS...i hope he is banned and stays banned...the little fajita munchin nomark  :D

Your choice.

I am from the camp that supports the manager and players through thick and thin. The "When you walk through a storm...you'll never walk alone" brigade.

Is that wrong? Maybe in your eyes. Not in mine, and I personally feel that anyone who sings the managers name, then calls for his head (or stops supporting them on the back of a handful of dodgy results) should be put in a cell and a*se-raped by a series of Silver-back Gorillas.

Here I was thinking that being a Liverpool fan meant you were better than the tripe who attend their home matches elsewhere and voice fickle opinions as though they are going out of fashion.

Perhaps I was wrong...

There's no perhaps about it mate  :D

Anyways this whole Rafa out thing looks like it'll be the next issue to polarise the people on here. I'm not for the rotation on anything like the scale the manager has employed and think it is the main factor which has derailed us, but I'm very much in the "Rafa IN" camp for the forseeable.

Also although Rafa and his disciples do annoy me a bit with their blind faith, there isn't any comparison I don't think with his tenure and that of Houllier. The Spaniard in my opinion anyway is in an entirely different bracket to the Frenchman. Probably THE most frustrating thing about Rafa is that he has done such a brilliant job in assembling the squad, but then he doen't give them a chance to succeed.

Hopefully he follows up the sensible selection against Spurs with many many more, and we can move forward together.

I am also in the same band or category (weird sick american words i am using stuck for anything else  :no  :D )

If i am at the match then i will be right behind rafa the players even the bird that takes ages at the shop at half time  :D
My support is with them...but hand on heart at the moment..i am really getting worried, i think we have the squad...the players if we had one big game then i think we would be ok, the manager..tactics wise for a major match. But i seriously do think that he is over complicating things for himself.
As i keep saying this opinion is in no way based on todays team selection performance or result.
A bigmick said...even with our best 11 it will take a few games to get back into the stride that Rafa knocked us out of, but i think (or hope-based on todays line up) that Rafa realises that.

I just think there are a lot of similarities between 2002/3 and this season that are getting people worried.

You're right, mate--I haven't included a change in position as part of my assessment of "unforced" changes.

sorry, I was typin the post I made from about 7pm in between watchign hte rugby and the match, so didnt know you had posted this. I will move the thread or merge it in a bit.

HOWEVER - How can you count changes made either side of a dead rubber game (Toulouse) and the Carling cup game in your comparrison ?

EDIT - 28 changes came around these two games, I have just checked.

Lost our coach 2002/3 lost our coach 2007/8, went unbeaten in the league till novenber 2002/3 unbeaten up till now 2007/8 , played poorly but kept getting results (draws) 2002/3 played poorly getting results (draws) 2007/2008

Manager seemed to have lost the plot 2002/2003, Manager may have lost the plot 2007/2008 ?

there are just certain things that people dont understand. Why was torres rested for a premiership game then played in the carling cup? thats the kind of rotation that makes absolutely no sense...

Coach left in 2002/2003 - Patrice Burges
Assistant Manager left in 2007 Paco (Thommo was assistant in 2002-2003 and nave left)

After 8 games 2002-2003 - 18 points
After 8 games 2007-2008 - 16 points (thus not the same)

Played poorly but got results 2002-2003 - wrong, we went WWDDDWWWWWWW until our first loss in the league, then it was LDLLLLDDDLD so after the good start we never played poorly and got results, we where awful.

Manager seems to have lost the plot ? How has Rafa lost the plot please ? The teams form has dipped.
