The defensive midfield conundrum...

Despite the influx of central midfielders we've got we've got to pray to god that Lucas stays fit. If he gets injured we have nobody else who's naturally inclined to do his job and patrol infront of the back four. Spearing can't, Adam can't and Gerrard doing it is just a waste.

Disagree :D With the onset of age and his ability Gerrard IMO would become an ideal 'sitter'. It's when he goes lung busting and gets caught out of position things go Pete Tong.
