The fans owe an enormous debt to Broughtan, Purslow and Ayre, despite what people think about Purslow.

We are free of the cancers and while we will hear them making empty threats from across the Atlantic please remember that these poor three fellas will have to continue dealing with them over the next couple of months as undoubtedly all three will be sued by H&G.

Chances are they will be replaced by NESV's new team so it is important not to forget what they have done for the club and to support them in the defence against the inevitable :censored: H&G will throw at them.

I believe as Liverpool supporters we all have a duty to help Broughton, Ayres and Purslow in any way we can to fight any up coming litigation against them from Hicks and Gillette. Even if it is just sending emails and carrying on the fight. Those guys played a blinder for us and we should do the same for them.

Agree 100% with this . Well said.

I'm actually getting really p*ssed off with fans calling Christian Purslow , Purslime.

He's played a blinder on this and deserves all our thanks .

agreed - purslow played a blinder too, a Liverpool fan, lucky to be CE in difficult times and fought as best he could, in difficult circumstances from within, to preserve the club.. lets face it RBS could have taken the club ages ago, instead they worked together to give the club a 'stable' future 'longevity' sustainability..

'and today they released the following: RBS is pleased the sale of LFC to NESV has been completed and are confident this will provide the foundation for the Club and its fans to enjoy renewed success on and off the pitch.'

RBS a bank who make money from leeches such as H&G, showed more compassion and respect for the 'institution' that is Liverpool FC.. so thank you to them too for doing evryting they could.. appointing Broughton etc and securing the undertakings to hep us get to this day.

... and a thank you to the Guardian.. :) great live coverage of court proceedings.. :)

He, like the rest of the board, was suspected of all sorts prior to the last couple of weeks. Whether it was because he's a Chelsea supporter; is minted, has a semi-posh accent and looks like Gandalf; or whether he was simply associated with the wrong people at the wrong time, he was cast as just another shady character not welcome at the club. A degree of suspicion is healthy but that must be tempered by fact. A lot of people were too willing to confirm their worst nightmares without a considered assessment of the facts. Namely, that he had a reputation to defend and a duty to do his best by the club. He was never going to abuse his position by "selling Torres to Chelsea on the cheap, 'cause he can, and why not?" or anything of the sort. He was appointed with a remit to oversee the sale of the club and he's done just that. He was professional, straight talking, honest and unwavering from the outset and for the job he's done he deserves immense credit. Does that mean I would have him as our permanent chairman? Would I feck, the dirty Chelsea-supporting scoundrel
