Probably should be in the rumor thread, but I heard that Inter are after him, they want to buy some really expensive players to celebrate their anniversary.  Not sure if he's going to leave England though.

To the same tune we did Fowler, Daglish and St John.

Not just some random claps.

Well he certainly has put that cliche that a foreign striker  needs a season to adjust to Premier league before you can judge him to bed. Certainly be a shining light in ever increasing gloomy season

He has been an incredible success, and the manager deserves nothing but credit for his signing. I do have slight reservations visa vis his team play and there is a nagging concern that we might be well down the track of becoming a little "one man teamish" in terms of our attack, but these are very small gripes about a fantastic talent.

On the question of us becoming a little bit of a one man team going forward, if I may be permitted to spout some bile and leave a little sh!t in my wake before I go there are a couple of points to mention. Firstly, while Torres has done fantastically well, he has done so in what will be the easiest season he will ever get in the Premiership. He need only ask Alonso, who I'm sure will be able to advise him about the danger of resting on his laurels and the extreme difficulty of following up a great first season. Coaches the length and breadth of the country will be watching video's of the young striker, searching for ways to nullify his threat.

That he ploughs largely a loan furrow is a worry for this reason. It seems to me that only Crouch out of our strikers is anywhere near on his wavelength, while he manages to score when he is playing with Kuyt not because of interplay with the Dutchman, but more because Dirk stays well out of his areas and gives him the free run of where he needs to be. A partnership is always harder to stop than a lone threat, and as the pressure in terms of defensive set-up increases, we really are going to need to find someone to play with him.

So how do you stop him? Well if it was me I'd ask the central defenders to rough him up and get him appealing for free-kicks in non dangerous areas. I'd engage him in backchat, in niggle and get his gander up. I'd push on with the fullbacks and invite him to run the channels, whilst always making sure we doubled up in behind. I wouldn't defend too high up against him as he's got plenty of pace, and I'd sit a screener in front of him so they couldn't feed it easily into his feet. Essentially I'd play him the same way that Man Utd and Inter Milan did (even with ten men in their case). You could also try the approach Arsenal used which was not to allow us many touches of the ball during the ninety minutes but that's not so easy.

He's scored many goals this season that he most likely won't get next as teams will specifically set up to nullify him. For that reason it is essential in my view that both he and the team develop. All that said, he is a truly wonderful player and an absolute pleasure to watch in a Liverpool shirt.
