Steve Finnan Song - Recently Sang at WBA

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby jonnymac1979 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 4:03 pm

My brother was telling me the other day about a song which has been aired by our away fans at West Bromwich Albion the other week when Fowler and Cisse scored.

He was telling me the words the other day but I've forgot them, the word "winning" though is rhymed with Finnan though, so I know I wasn't dreaming it.  That was the only bit I can remember him telling me.

Did anyone go the game?  Leon, Murphy or Dalglish probably did and if so can you post the words here?

About time Finnan had a song.  Been one of the most consistent players we've had for a while.  Plus it's always good to hear our crowd singing new songs.  We've got a knack for making some quality tunes up, that other clubs inevitably cannot compete with.

To the tune of  Michael Finnegin.

We've got a right back called steve finnan,
when he plays where always winning,
crosses the ball out and in again,
we've got a right back called steve finnan, etc..........
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Could have sworn I heard Sloop John B sung at Old Trafford today.

Speaking of which, I only have identified some of the songs of the players. The one of Hyypia, the one of Luis Garcia he drinks sangria, the one of Steve Gerrard, he'll pass the ball 40 yards, the one of Carraguer...

I hear that Xabi Alonso is chanted a song "Xabiii Alonso (claps) Xabiii Alonso (claps)". But it's a bit dull, isn't it? Or perhaps I missed another one? it's quite difficult to me to understand what the crowd says, to be honest. :(
