He is cheap and only in the squad to use as a last resort. What did people expect? he was never going to do a good job.

But was last night a "last resort" ? We had three CBs on the pitch, "last resort" would have been no RBs whatsoever and didn't we have Darby on the bench......................?

But again, let's not get distracted from why we didn't win - we didn't take our chances. Had Torres made a better connection and Kuyt got a bit more power and direction on their shots, we would have been 2-0 up by half-time. Notice I didn't say if Voronin had scored his 1-on-1, although the angle wasn't ideal, hitting it along the grass is no way to beat a keeper. At least if he'd leathered it and it shot into row Z he could have blamed a bobble, a back-pass shot just looks worse even if technically it is on target

I expected us not to waste even £10 on a joke player like him, you guys act like £1 million is pocket change, I can promise you it isn't, if you add up all these well it was only a few million quid players then we could probably have had someone fairly decent in the team.

I actually think that Rafa got this one wrong.  Kelly and Ayala would have made decent covers.  He needs to trust the youngster a bit more.

And if it went t!ts up people would of said why play an untried youngster in such a big game when youve got a seasoned international on the bench.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,
