Have to say, lakes always does a scatter-gun approach with his rumours at a ratio of 10:1 (which logically would give him much better odds at getting one rumour right), yet he still always fails miserably to get any of them right.

a few weeks ago, Alan Pardew came out and said that they are dealing with a vulnerability in Demba Ba's contact which can see them having to let go of him in January for quite a low price. Reports have it that there is a 7 million release clause. Maybe we should raid them in January for Demba Ba since we need a striker and he is a good striker and to shut them up for the Carroll deal...

Ba had that clause in his contract in the summer.

IMO he would be a panic buy in jan. We have months of scouting and a saving of 500k a week in wages to spend on a top striker.
