Finnan - 7. One of the few that turned up. Picked some good passes, linked well with Pennant and was aggressive. Created alot of space on the right which wasn't used properly.
Carragher - 5. Poor. Poor distribution and positioning. Was a complete and utter howler for Henry's goal.
Agger - 4. Didn't even notice him. Was poor on the ball, offered next to nothing defensively. His decision making and positional play aswell as his lack of arial dominance had a massive hand in allowing Arsenal to play the way they did.
Riise - 4. Worst game in a red shirt. Awful distribution and defended awfully. What he was playing at for Arsenal's first goal I'll never know.
Pennant - 7. Had a go and shown some aggression and willingness to try and create in the second half after a quiet first half.
Gerrard - 7. Liverpool's best player but was way below his own high standards. Played some good passes but didn't get involved enough and seemed a bit slow onto second balls and knock downs.
Alonso - 5. Woeful passing, poor positioning, didn't close down and simply didn't shield the back four the way he can. Was out ran in midfield and again the partnership with Gerrard was proved to be a poor one with the incorrect balance.
Luis Garcia - 6. Simply because in the last 15 minutes he looked like making something happen. The first 75 he was awful. Closed down well and played the odd good pass.
Kuyt - 7. Worked his balls off and caused problems for Arsenal's back four with good movement and hold up play. Played some good passes but we couldn't get him involved in the right areas.
Crouch - 4. Awful performance. Done very well for Kuyt's goal but apart from that was very poor. Conceeding possession all the time and not once did the ball stick with him when it went up. Disposessed easily by Senderos and Toure every time he had the ball.
Sub:
Aurelio - 7. Injected some pace and intelligence on the left. Done really well for the corner which led to our goal. Looked stronger and fit. Shown some good touches, hopefully a sign of things to come.

Who cares about the ratings. The truth is if we want to be a title winning side at least 4 of those players wouldnt get into our side.
The question is what is Rafa going to do about sorting this side out for next year to make us better. Im simley gutted tonight. Arsenal had 3 chances and scored 3 goals and there supposed to be awuful away from home.

Fair Assesment stu, I agree with you about our back four, except finnan. I thought Carra should have really done better with Henry's goal, he should have at least tried to knock the ball out. I agree with you, it was dudek's mistake for the first goal, he was out of his line, he didnt cover his goal properly.
I wanted to say the samething about Auerlio, I thought he did pretty well when he came on, tried his best and gave some neat passes and crosses.

Agree with the ratings for the back 5 bar Finnan, thought he was quite average, around a 6.
I agree Gerrard, Kuyt and Pennant were out better players, its good to see Pennant is picking up now.
Alonso was sloppy with possession by his standards.
Shi*e day, sounded a great atmosphere on the box, very proud today of us fans. Shame the lad on the pitch didnt match it.
...Whats wrong with this thread Leon?

Wrong on a lot of counts!!
Anyway what good does it do giving points to players that worked their balls off for LFC only to be caught on the break by a Shy hiding team....waiting?
Stu i love ya baby but you talk the biggest load of balls at times!

Dudek was disappointing but to be fair the defending in front of him for the 2nd and 3rd goals was abysmal , the shots that produced those goals should never have been allowed in the first place.
Our attacking was predictable and despite our domination in terms of posession, Arsenal always looked fairly comfortable and far more dangerous than we did when they attacked .Tactically they mugged us .Arsenal are a good side , it's a kick in the nuts losing to them but it's no disgrace.

I agree Woof, the attack was too predictable , but even worse was the sloppy defending and midfield play. It did look like a tired team , going through the motions.
We were in their back pocket, but its no disgrace. They are good and have some excellent players ..even a half fit Henry can be dangerous.
