New Boys May Face Liverpool (Manchester United Official Web)
Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that new signings Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic will be both be in the United squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.
The pair are itching to make their Old Trafford bows. Evra was substituted 45 minutes into his debut against Manchester City last week, while Vidic has been recovering his fitness having not played since late November.
While the duo will be in contention for starts against Rafael Benitez's side, Ji-sung Park has been ruled out of the clash due to his ongoing recovery from slight medial knee ligament damage.
Sir Alex expects to have the South Korean international back in around 10 days. He revealed: "Ji-sung has been running this week, we hope to move him on to the football part next week."
Fellow midfielder Alan Smith, meanwhile, could be available for Sunday's crucial encounter after missing Wednesday night's FA Cup win over Burton.
The 25-year-old missed the 5-0 victory after a recurrance of an ankle injury, but hopes to train on Saturday with a view to making Sunday's squad.
"We sent him for a scan which came back clear," revealed Fergie. "Hopefully he'll be okay, he gives us another alternative in the centre of midfield."
Report by Steve Bartram and Gemma Thompson, at Carrington.
Reds is the sacred colour before this world was born.
