Liverpools summer transfer window and now the gripes

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yup I'm happy with the Window but yeah we needed a CH. If Van Dijk is injured the back line will lack leadership and possibly revert back to being fragile dweebs.
Lovrens decent but imo pairing with Van Dijk has helped him loads. I'm not convinced on Matip he is injury prone and not reliable. Gomez is still learning so can't be relied on leading the back line.
That lad Everton picked up would have been a good option for us.

Yup, would have thought we needed another CH too. Yerry Mina would have been nice, especially for that kind of fee. Though, if it had been us, Barca might have asked for double that. Can only hope that our defenders stay fit (or at least, not get injured all at the same time), then hope for the likes of Gomez and Philips to grow and learn

Everyone should be happy with this window as we have had a better transfer window than all of the other teams in the PL. It might not be enough to win as the squad is quite thin even if the first team is great.

“I cannot train at all because of stomach muscle issues,” said Lovren. “I am suffering a lot of pain and will see a specialist doctor in the Netherlands.“When did I start to feel it? I felt it during the World Cup. I played with pain and those three games killed me. But who wouldn't play for Croatia at such a big tournament!

“After the World Cup finished, the pain increased. I can't even sit in my car without feeling it and to get out of the car hurts like hell! “I'd always grit my teeth and play for Croatia, but now I am paying the price. But no price is too high for what we achieved in Russia.” Asked about Liverpool's reaction to the injury, Lovren – speaking to Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti – said: “Of course, they are not happy.

“I haven’t trained since I returned from holiday. I can't. “I'll reassess things after seeing the doctor in Netherlands. I have to deal with that for now and believe it will be okay.

“I hoped it would pass during my holiday, but it didn't. As I went for a swim, it hurt. I couldn't even rest normally.”  :glare:

If Liverpool knew Matip and Klavan were both unavailable and this unreliable tool would be returning injured ,why the f*ck didn't they sign a replacement in the window ?

Lovren has been training this week and even said he was ready to play against Tornio. He was in training photos from Monday and Wednesday. Would be odd if that story is true.

Very worrying. Matip needs to return ASAP. I have little trust in Gomez and Klavan. Hopefully the Lovren injury isn't too serious.

It does say he hasn't trained fully.  Fwiw I doubt the Echo would print it if it wasn't true and it does sound like Lovren.

Matip picks up a fair few injuries over the course of a season. Klavan imo needs a run of games to get up to speed with it but even then he is slow. Its a big chance for Gomez now to step up. He has been here long enough and now is the chance to see if he can or not.

ECHO are quoting a Croatian outlet. Doesn't look like they have any direct info themselves. But the fact it's coming out of Lovren's home country makes it a little more credible I guess.

If it's true and the club just found out this week Klopp will be furious I'd imagine. He should have informed the club and got checked out straight after the world cup.

So we are starting with 1 fit CB from our top 4.

Yep, some things never change.

RBG called it a few weeks back in this thread, the inability to bring in another solid CB will cost us.  :no
"LIVERPOOL: 6 European Cups, 19 Domestic Titles, 3 UEFA Cups, 8 FA Cups, 9 League Cups and 4 European Super Cups and 1 Club World Championship

All other English clubs pale into insignificance!"

It's just bad luck dude. Injuries, Lovren late coming to training, and Fabinho has An illness. Next game will be different I'm sure

You'd think we were already 3 points behind the leading pack
How about a little positivity?
I won't be posting throughout this season as the YOYO up and down of emotive opinions, week by week analysis just isn't fun.
Does anyone actually think West Ham aren't a bag of nerves today? They are one mistake from taking a hiding as with any team that now comes to Anfield  :buttrock

Last season was a blast. Last season was nearly EPIC!
Klopp and the boys deserve the respect THEY HAVE EARNED!

Apparently Klavan might leave the club before the window closes. Risky move if true. We shouldnt even be considering selling or offloading Origi for that matter.

We should be looking to sell:
-Mignolet/Karius
-Markovic
-Chirivella

loan out:
- Nat Phillips
- Grugic
- Ojo
- Solanke
