Well if we are not in the CL league next year it aint gonna bother me too much.
Im over this debate of if we win it we should qualify, because this year our performances have been shocking in the league especially after CL games.
Everton deserved fourth and now deserve to play A game in europe:D

As for the reds we should be thinking of challenging the top three next season and have a lot more consistency in our game. That has been the big worry this season and that is why we havent finnished fourth.
Playing in the CL has done us no favours in the EPL ,and could be a blessing in disguise for next season.
Roll on Istanbul
Roll on next season:D

The league comes first next year, I'm sure rafe will be thinking this aswell. It's been the main yardstick for success every year so far and should not change. The extra time we will get if we are not in the Champions league next season will be a blessing in disguise - so I agree with Bamaga Man.

How much does 10Mil mean to the club? Not more than challenging for the Premiership title I hope.

Gonna be lot of hussle and arguement :)

No, there won't.  The decision has been made.  It's Everton.  Have you been under a rock? We MAY be allowed a backhanded passage at the discretion of UEFA (with some hard lobbying by the FA) IF we win the CL.
Frankly, we lost this race for fourth a long time ago - I'm thinking when we closed the gap to a single point, that was the time to roll over Everton, whose own form in the run in has been shocking too (just not as awful as ours).  But we just imploded.  14 league defeats?  We have a LONG LONG way to go to close the gap on the top three.  Everton don't worry me.  They just had one stand-out season for them in a league season of massive mediocrity for other teams like us and Newcastle.  Other teams have done this, like Charlton or sometimes Villa etc. The bluesh**e will be safely tucked away in the bottom 6 all next season again, back where the c**ts  belong.
So much depends now on what money Rafa has availabler over the summer.  It had better be a lot because I'm starting to think that more than a few of our current players have to go.  Not just the Traore's and Biscans either. Even the Riise's and Hyppia's who have given their all for this team and who  love will probably have to make way for faster, more consistent, more gifted players.  It's face facts time.

:( :( It seems that, unfortunately, Liverpool will not play the CL next year, even if we win tha Final in Istambul. The UEFA cannot grant more than four places to any country. My team in Spain, R. Zaragoza, was told four years ago that despite being fourth in the League, could not play the Champions League because Real Madrid, who were fifth, had just won the Champions League and the Spanish Federation had decided that Real Madrid would represent Spain. I thought it was unfair, but now here in England, the English Federation will keep Everton and leaves us out of the CL. It is probably more fair, but the bloody fact is that my two teams in the world are excluded by two different decisions. I think I am going to give up football, although my father always tells me that that is impossible.

A wise man, that dad of yours.

i agree with that.perhaps, not playing in the CL will allows us to concentrate more on the league n make a serious challenge to the top 3.

apparently the champions league sponsers and tv, have already put pressure on UEFA and they are thinking on putting 5 teams in from\ the premiership if LFC win the champions league final... it was on skysports this morning
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Here how it is. The FA saying that only four sides will go to the CL is bullsh1t of course, the UEFA gave them the right to make that decision. However if we were to win the competition the UEFA would have to include us somehow in the CL next year in order to save the little reputation they have and the value of the competition. But in reality both the UEFA and the FA are praying that we lose to Milan, especially UEFA so they wouldn't have to make the final decision.

I'm fairly confident that if we win, UEFA will find an extra place for us.

I say lets win it and tell UEFA and the FA where they can stick their CL place . If they don't want WINNERS in their over commercialised competition then fine and if I was on the board at Liverpool I would refuse a place in the UEFA Cup as a protest

This is absolutley nothing against Everton who rightly have earned their place for next season. Using that same argument surely the winners of the thing have EARNED theirs as well ???
