La Tallec coming back to England - But back to us?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

interesting story on skysportsnews

Anthony Le Tallec has confirmed he is cutting short his loan stint with St Etienne in order to return to England.
Three clubs are understood to be keen on signing the Liverpool youngster on a temporary basis - Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Sunderland.
Rafa Benitez also has the option, of course, of keeping the 20-year-old at Anfield, particularly as the injury problems on Merseyside show no sign of letting up.
The Liverpool boss is meeting the player on Friday to make a final decision about his immediate future.
After being used sparingly by St Etienne coach Elie Baup, Le Tallec is disenchanted with life with Les Verts.
"My situation at St Etienne can't last any more," he told But.
"I don't know what the coach [Baup] has against me but it is clear he doesn't trust me.
"Since the start of the New Year, I played ten minutes at Nimes and I stayed on the bench three times without playing.
"That is enough.
"I will go back to England."

if pongolles injury is as bad as some think, this could be the obvious replacement

I would really like to see him in the red shirt this season!

Obviously he is talented player and with the right coaching he may be an important player for us in the future!  :)

I say bring him back and give him a few games for us.

I don't see anything to be gained by sending him to the likes of Norwich and Palace. Its better off having him at the club and integrating himself into the new regime.

What is more is that we are actually short of players, and we could certainly do with him, as cover at the very least.

we should get him back A.S.A.P, we need as many players as we can get at the moment, and la tellec has got lots of ability and would provide good cover.

I think he's a good player and we'll do well to have him back, and if Pongolle's injury is as serious as is being made out he couldn't come soon enough

I would like ALT to come back to LFC (esp after pongolle's injury).

But think all is not rite between Rafa & ALT. Read somewhere that ALT has an attitude problem.

He is a young lad who made a mistake. From what i saw last season, he has an excellant 1st touch & good vision. He does have some potential.

Rafa turned traore into a decent defender (would you have believed that last year). Just imagine what rafa can do with ALT.

From what i seen of him last season he is easily better than a few of our squad at the moment ,but if he is gonna upset the team spirit we are trying to acheive there is no room for him.

As far as Houllier's insane signings of the french players that Arsenal didn't want, Le Tallec always looked the most promising. Has anyone seen him at St. Et? I wonder how he's doing now...

Why should he become successful here if he can't make it at St Etienne?

doesn't look like there is much team spirit there judging by the southamppton game.

i think we should give him a chance. he did well last season and scored 2 in pre-season in 1 game. i would do the same with him as rafa did with sinama. give him the odd start but play him mostly from the bench. he is young and lacks match fitness so he will need time to have any impact
