A hernia op is not really an injury, he'll be back in training with a week

he had a groin op a few days after the final to fix his injury.  If he is having a hernia removed, it is probably planned and isn't really a big deal

I had a hernia op about 2 years ago and believe me he won't be training in a week, I couldn't even run a week after and the surgion told me not to play sport for 5 weeks.

New injury blow for Kewell
by Peter ORourke -  created on 19 Jul 2005

Harry Kewell is set to miss the start of the new season, as he requires a hernia operation.

The Liverpool midfielder has already missed the start of pre-season training because he was recovering from a groin injury.

Kewell was forced off during the memorable UEFA Champions League victory over Milan with the groin problem.

The Australian underwent an operation on the problem soon after the final and it was hoped he would be fully fit for the start of the new season.

However, Kewell has suffered a new injury setback and he now needs to undergo a hernia operation.

The injury is likely to see Kewell sidelined for six weeks and means he will be missing for the kick-off of The Premiership on August 13.

Kewell has plagued by a series of ailments over the last year and this new injury is a major blow to his hopes of holding down a regular place in Rafa Benitez's plans.

Well, I don't know about you lot...but I'm shocked.  Harry 'tough guy' Kewell injured?  I never thought I'd see the day.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the fact that Rafa's got them training morning and afternoon.

For f*ck sake, are people sure 'sicknote' originates from Darren Anderton. Harry Kewell's virtually on his death bed every week
