Imo Anelka is over rated and I beleive Baros is a far better player ,playing for the same team Baros would score more goals this is down to his drive and determination and talent .

Anelkas goal record is not that impressive really only one good season at Arsenal and the rest has been average .

Have you ever seen Anelka live? His awareness, pace, skill, passing and creativety aswell as his link up play an shooting are simply a joy to watch. When he played for us upfront with Owen i thought we had potentially one of the worlds best ever strike forces. Anelka is an incredible player with fantastic ability. He could play at any level with EASE.

Also, is 25 goals for Man City last season not impressive? He's got about 15 this season if i'm not mistaken.

If Anelka fails to impress you, but Baros does impress you, you simply don't know football. Thats the end of the matter.

Also, Anelka hit 25 in a man city side. Baros' best EVER total is 12. So that also puts your "Theory" to bed. Now come back when you have a clue!!!

How is that not impressive? Man City midfield doesn't really feed the ball very well [excluding SWP] to Anelka but he still manages to score all those goals.

When looking at any new forward, Mellor has to be the current yardstick for comparison. Baros and Cisse when fit are assured of a slot, Pongolle is still developing and has potential. So, Mellor is the man in competition with a newcomer for a slot.
Personally, I have not seen enough of Johnson or Morientes to pass an opinion, but Anelka has more to his game than Mellor for me !!

You go and replace your weakest player with a player who could potentially become your best. Thats how you build a squad. Not by messin around with players who won't play. Your current first 11 should be the ones you're lookin to replace.

No, Redrider, you clearly said Cisse and Baros are in the first team anyway. I say why?

Why if we can get better than them then we should. Baros and Cisse aren't world class and never will be. Excellent players they may become, but neither are in Anelka's league.

Personally, i'm not for signing Morientes, he's not my style of player, but he's a better player than what we have in that position and i trust Raffa to make the right signing.
