Please explain? Are you suggesting that square and backwards passes and keeping the ball aren't an important parts of he game?

Do you think its always possible to go fowards everytime you get the ball?

Ive watched Liverpool many times, at least 15 of the 18 home games last season, plus Uefa/Worthington/Fa cup matches, and although possession is a priority, the way they often play is pathetic! And i've heard hundreds of people at the match, being angry and scathing , shouting at the team to stop passing the ball back and go forward.
Playing defensively is the play of a scared team!

Example: Hypia passes to Henchoz, back to hypia, to hamann who comes very deep, doesnt look up to move forward with the ball, back to hypia, out to risse, down the line to murphy, murphy bottles it, so gets rid quick, across to hamann, back to henchoz, etc etc! which goes on for a large part of the match.

How many times ive seen that last season is unbelievable. whats the point of keeping possession if you aint gonna get anywhere?
Thats why murphy and hamann are USELESS!

Thats the kind of football that got HOULLIER THE SACK wasnt it?

We need players who can surge forward take people on, similar in style to Pires (who takes people on goes forward), Viera etc.

This coming from a kid who honestly thinks he's better than proffessional footballers that have represented there country and played against some of the best players in the world and also won medals at the top end of the game.

Hustler, players often play a certain style due to a manager. Hamann at Newcastle for example.

Also, i couldn't give a ****** what a bunch of moronic rugby following wools shout at the match. Playing football and winning is more important than the style of play!!

Like at the Man Utd match away last season... all these ****** shouting go forward when we where 1-0 up. Attacking sides when you are winning a game is madness. The idea is to get a balence... and when playing against the better sides if you don't get the balence right you get clobbered.

The fact is we aren't good enough yet to go and attack for 90 minutes. Get used to it.

Also, what you clearly don't understand is playing for space. Pushing teams out of position, pulling players out of position. When centre halfs pass to each other, then into the midfield... if the midfield give it back thats because they don't have the option to go forward. Its low risk football and theres nothing wrong with it when its played properly.
