People hear slating Paul Scholes shows a lack of knowledge. He's a class act and a top class player with fantastic technique and finishing abiliy. His vision, awareness and decision making on the ball is also a joy to watch.

He's an unbelievable player. How many goals did he get last season out of curiousty?

Gerrard should be in there, but not at the expense of Scholes for christs sake. He's still the second best (by a long way) english central midfielder around.

Scholes is a terrific player, I agree and it was his fanatastic form (and RVN's goals) after Christmas that won UTD the league in 2002/03.

However, by his own extremely lofty standards he was below par last year and hasn't done it at all this year.

Scholes has been an excellent player, but the rumours of his possible retirement from the game this year are testament to his fall from grace of late.
