Djibril Cisse expects Rafa Benitez to be wielding the axe in January but is not too worried about his own Anfield career.
Cisse said: "In January there will be a kind of elimination process process. I would say along the lines of Pop Idol or Fame Academy.
"We are having to live with the expectation that an extra forward will probably arrive during the transfer window and that will mean more players competing for the same position. It is natural that the manager would want to improve the squad but it may not mean good news for everyone.
"I'm not too worried because I have scored 11 goals already this season and that is inspite of the change in personnel the coach likes to to use almost every game."
Who exactly the Frenchman is hinting at is not clear but rumours are flying around Anfield. Jerzy Dudek's agent publicly admitted a few weeks ago that a move to Benfica would be good for his client and Benitez today slapped a four million pound pricetag on the head of Chris Kirkland.
As we said earlier, Djimi Traore may also be receiving a one way departure from John Lennon aeroport. Cisse hints at a new forward being brought in so that could mean the end of Florent Sinama Pongolle rather than Fernando Morientes.
Whether Cisse has done himself any favours by making a public statement like this remains to be seen. Benitez wants his players to be disciplined and Cisse discussing the club's transfer strategy may not be the best way to endear himself with the manager.
I don't think Cisse should be making comments in public regarding who we will sell/buy in January, it really doesn't do him any favours. Yes he's scored 11 goals but I don't think he's played well in any our games.
He has extradionary speed and a powerful shoot but seems to be the only attributes he posses. No intelligence on the ball what so ever, and he has a poor first touch. What seems to bother Benitez the most is the fact that Cisse does not work for the team.
