I would like to see Liverpool use a variation on the 3-5-1 formation away from home

                             Reina
          Carragher      Agger     Hyypia
                        Alonso
Pennant    Sissoko         Gerrard       Aurelio
                        Bellamy

Agger would be able to step forward out of defence to support the midfield while Gerrard could step up to support Bellamy giving a very flexible and fluid formation. My only reservations would be that Liverpool have tried 3 at the back under Bob Paisley and Roy Evans and it didnt work very well.

Gee twelve men on the field?? Wow your football genius comes through. Odds are great that this will be an unbeatable team but what will FIFA think? Still you may be on to something.

Our new signings are good signings but i'm surprised how many fans are willing to drop existing successful players for new players who haven't even proved themselves in a liverpool shirt yet.

A few points:

In my opinion from the initial friendlies we have had - a fit Kewell is better than Gonzales. Therefore my starting XI

                       Reina

Finnan     Carragher     Hyypia     Riise

                      Sissoko

        Gerrard     Alonso     Kewell

               Bellamy      Crouch

Subs: Dudek, Aurelio, Pennant, Garcia, Fowler

But our new signings allow us to be effective using a solo striker:

                       Reina

Finnan     Carragher     Hyypia     Riise

                Alonso     Sissoko

Pennant           Gerrard           Kewell

                      Crouch

Subs: Dudek, Aurelio, Bellamy, Gonzales, Garcia

this lineup is taking pre season friendlies and last seasons displays into consideration, completing a prem winning side:

                                                in goal-> reina
basically i wouldn't change last seasons defence because we had one of the best in the prem and changin it may cause upsets

    finnan                          carragher                    hyypia                                                  riise
(outstandin last season)(always outstandin)(as the season progresses, change to palletta)

as for out midfield, the 2 centre people have to be gerrard and alonso, with alonso sitting just behind and allowing gerrard to have a free role and get up the field to score or provide goals.

at the wings, which again will be vital in our side because we havent been able to find that right sided mid but now we have, with the addition of pennant, gonzalez and with kewell and zenden whos came back from injury, i have to take the pre-match friendlies into consideration, therefore here is my midfield.

                                         alonso
pennant                        (great passer of the ball-                 gerrard ©                          gonzalez
(assisted a goal               maybe sissoko                        (obviously)                         (with kewell
in germany the other day) if playing a defencive way)                                                injured he will
                                                                                                                        have to prove
                                                                                                                       himself)
usually i would have kewell on the left because of how well he did last season, showing how good he really is, but with him injured gonzalez has a chance to steal the respect off him at the start of the season.

like i said before the only 2 upfront for me is bellamy and fowler because of there teamwork and link up play which is vital for a prem winning upfront

Our best 11:

                       Reina

Finnan    Carragher    Hyypia    Riise

Gerrard     Alonso      Sissoko   Kewell

               Crouch     Bellamy

I still think that is the best 11 players we can put out on the field. I couldn’t put Aurelio and Gonzalez in the team because we haven’t seen them play for us yet and we know very little about them so Riise and Kewell keep their places. Can Pennant really improve that 11? In my opinion not even close, and that not a insult to him, its just that those 3 our excellent players vital to the team, but he is a good player who improves our options. Must admit I did seriously deliberate between Bellamy and Fowler, Fowler is a superior footballer but we know all about his fitness and injuries, so I gave Bellamy the nod.

Are we only allowed 10 players on the pitch playing away from home?

Mine would be same team but Fowler for Crouch

So we spent 6.7 million for pennant just to sit on the bench and Gerrard to play out of position again ??? :no

So what, you want to drop Rafa's best signings or one of the most vital players in our team who probabrly is Rafa's second best signing? Gerrard won the player of the year while playing on the right.

Pennant will have to dislodge either Gerrard, Alonso or Sissoko, and I cant see him doing it, but he will still get loads of games due to rotation.

We need good back up and players and thats what I think Pennant and Kewell will be this season.
