Do you not follow Liverpool history? We had a lot of success in between, I just chose the “miracle workers”

Jurgen Klopp

2015 – 2024

Days as manager: 3,147 | Games: 491 | Win %: 62.12

A transformational manager that placed the club back on its perch, a charismatic figure who left a trophy-laden legacy.

Champions League 2019
UEFA Super Cup 2019
FIFA Club World Cup 2019
Premier League 2020
League Cup 2022
FA Cup 2022
League Cup 2024

Brendan Rodgers

2012 – 2015

Days as manager: 1,220 | Games: 166 | Win %: 51.2

Guided the Reds to the precipice of glory in the Premier League, took the team as far as he could and all parties needed to move on.

Kenny Dalglish

2011 – 2012

Days as manager: 494 | Games: 74 | Win %: 47.3

A second spell as manager recouped another trophy for the collection, his first and only League Cup as boss.

League Cup 2012

Roy Hodgson

2010 – 2011

Days as manager: 191 | Games: 31 | Win %: 41.94

A tenure that quickly crumbled and many continue to wish they could erase from their memory, even if it did last only 31 games.

Rafa Benitez

2004 – 2010

Days as manager: 2,188 | Games: 350 | Win %: 56.29

Against all the odds, the Spaniard led Liverpool to their fifth European Cup and their first since 1984.

Champions League 2005
FA Cup 2006

Gerard Houllier

1998 – 2004

Days as manager: 2,139 | Games: 307 | Win %: 52.12

Modernised the club and etched his name into the history books with a cup treble in 2000/01.

League Cup 2003
League Cup 2001
FA Cup 2001
UEFA Cup 2001
European Super Cup 2001
Charity Shield 2001

Roy Evans & Gerard Houllier

1998

Days as manager: 119 | Games: 18 | Win %: 38.89

For the first time, two managers led the team but it was doomed to fail from the off and lasted only 18 games.

Roy Evans

1994 – 1998

Days as manager: 1,746 | Games: 226 | Win %: 51.77%

Twenty-eight years after he first joined the club, he took on the role he was moulded for under the legendary boot room boys.

League Cup 1995

Graeme Souness

1991 – 1994

Graeme Souness and his squad

Days as manager: 1,018 | Games: 157 | Win %: 42.04

One of the club’s greatest-ever players and captain, but his time as manager did not prove as successful as his playing days.

FA Cup 1992

Ronnie Moran

1991 (Caretaker)

Days as manager: 52 | Games: 10 | Win %: 40

An original boot room boy, Moran twice took on caretaker duties when Dalglish stood down in 1991 and Souness underwent heart surgery in 1992.

Kenny Dalglish

1985 – 1991

Days as manager: 2,093 | Games: 307 | Win %: 60.91

His first spell started as a player-manager – a first for the club – and the success he experienced as a player continued as manager.

So what? I know all this history. The fact is that the club won nothing major from 1990-2005 and one league title since 1990.
Rafa covered for the incompetent greedy garbage that was Hicks/Gillet and Klopp covered for the incompetent and greedy FSG.
FSH are trash, have been trash and will continue to be garbage. They better beg Slot can be a miracle worker cause he sure as hell won't be backed...

No wonder Klopp left with FSG making a mockery of our club. Slots first transfer window and they've weakened our squad by selling without bringing a single player in.

I think they know the team is (probably) good enough for top 4 and they don't really care beyond that. Never said they did either.

It's just so disheartening as a supporter of the club. The owners ambition doesn't match the Club or the supporters ambitions. We could have won the league last season if we brought In a really good CDM.. I still think we have a chance if we buy one in this window. But we're not going to, we're gonna throw away another season.

Still a bit to go in this window so I wouldn't count us out yet. It would only add to the flames of not backing the manager which they will want to avoid. Whether the player will be of any use to us is another thing entirely but fingers crossed.

Slot has done really well in preseason with the squad so hopefully that continues when the competitive stuff starts on Saturday.

To be fair, the club did bid 115m for a midfielder last year yet he turned us down. We bid 80m the season before that on a DM but he turned us down also.

Caicedo was never coming here Kazza as he had terms agreed months prior with the Chavs. Arsenal walked away for that reason and no one else tried either till big balls Billy pulled 115mil out of nowhere. Klopp is probably still wondering where that came from considering he was told we hadn't got that kind of money. Where is it this year though  Oh yeah the new manager wants to assess what we have already. It's always some excuse or another with the worst one being only a few players exist that could improve us.

I still can't spell that touch fellas name but he was always going to Madrid if he had the option. Who wouldn't!!

Zubi had already turned down a few clubs and played in all their preseason games and showed up to all the training sessions. The way Sociedad reportedly handled this was odd because clubs like that wouldn't usually block a dream move for one of their players. You could have a very unhappy player on your hands as a result. My guess is FSG wanted the player to force his way out for that price rather than negotiate with them in case they wanted more. Was talk of them wanting it up front as well which I doubt we were willing to do.

Whatever the reason anyway its turned into another embarrassing sh1t show.

It would seem odd that the owners would bring in Edwards, Julian Ward and others and pay them a good salary only to not buy players.

It was Edwards who brought Ward back not FSG. They created the structure we have so positions have to be filled. It was Schmadke last year getting those deals over the line and now it's Hughes.  He will be negotiating any incoming transfers and we will sign players but just don't think we had any intention of doing much this season.

Since before the season ended the line out was that we were prioritising new deals for the big 3. As of last week Van Dijk said he has yet to receive an offer and he's only got 10 months left. Bound to be the same for Trent and Mo. If those 3 go next season for free then it will leave years of rebuilding ahead because they aren't likely to go and spend big money on like for like replacements without first getting it in. It will be unknowns or academy and we will have to grow them. The intention I believe is to let them go, especially the older 2 as they won't want to give out big deals to them and it's cheaper than replacing. FSG run a tight ship and will know what we are going to spend for the next few years in advance.

We shouldn't be so heavily reliant on Salah and Virgil anyway at their ages. Those contracts should have been sorted before Slot started. Next summer will be another fiasco in replacing them and another season to bed them in. If we are letting them walk then we should at least improve on one or two positions now. We can't be expecting Slot to walk in the door to the toughest league in the world and instantly improve on one of the best managers in the game who was here for 9 years. It's not like Klopp was holding them back from winning games.

Not slating FSG either as it appears we where looking at Gordon and Zubimendi so we appear to want to do things but it's just the way we go about it that's so frustrating.
