Funny because I've heard Adam is a deal done. Hmm we're going to have a lot of midfielders. :D

The good thing is that very few players will be able to avoid playing on the wing, Gerrard included (although as captain he will have the most leverage to ensure he gets his favoured position).

Henderson, Aquilani, Meireles, Adam. All will be used on the wing at some point I'm sure.

Lets not do anymore Golden handshakes with clubs form now on (i persume what happened or how else would they get away with what theyve done). Next time a club says they will stump up the money for a loaned player, make them sign a contract saying if they go back on thier word well have them by the balls in court. I thought this would of been the obvious thing to do.

The whole episode with Aqua is very regrettable.

There is no doubt he is a talented player, but he came to us injured, then was neve given the chance to get match fit by Rafa, even though most here will agree he showed signs of being a cracking player.

Then  he gets a full pre season, before being shipped out by a manager who did not know his job, or role at the club. He goes back home, and has a decent season and thinks to himself that coming back here does not look that attractive.

Really, who can blame him. This is one player who has been let down.

:nod  I think you are right, cannot really blame him. Having said that, it is a team sport, you have to show loyalty and faith in your team and this is not the same team that let him down. This manager will be good for him I think, and he should give us the benefit of doubt.

Some loyalty would be nice but tbh his whole saga just stinks.

I doubt he ever wanted to come here, being injured, the language barrier, the premiership pace and physicality was never going to suit him. Right from the off we were onto a loser.

He does have some quality but we are never going to see it, he is just too fragile.

Roma must have been lol'ing at us when we signed him, offload his injuries and wages onto some fools.

Looking at his stats, since the 2002/03 season he has played in only 245 games. So in nearly 10 years he has played an average of 24 games a season !

Offload him obviously at a massive loss and get his wages off the books

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is still waiting to hear from Juventus whether they will sign him permanently.

Aquilani spent this season on loan at Juventus, but the club declined to take up its option for a permanent buy and, with the arrival of Andrea Pirlo, no longer needs him.

“Antonio Conte is taking time to think things over and Aquilani wants to remain in Italy, so we are seeing what other options there are,” agent Franco Zavaglia told Radio Mana Mana.

“Aquilani is certainly not Pirlo’s ideal partner in midfield, as his characteristics just don’t suit that role. Either they change system or have to reconsider certain ideas.

“The comforting thing is that in this season Alberto has played 36 games, so question marks over his fitness levels have disappeared. He made an impact at Juve.”

2 goals, 5 assists, 61 shots with only 12 on target. nothing special. a reasonable price for him would be similar to that of Charlie Adam's.

Liverpool and Acqua need to sort this out now and move on. We just have to accept it was a terrible deal and get shut on the cheap as clearly none of the better clubs with money will touch him at this point. You can mess about forever but its dragged on long enough so lets just move him out asap.
